Abetone also in 2015 confirmed itself as one of the most exciting stages of the Gravitalia National Circuit. As in previous editions, the track put all the riders in the race to the test, both for its length and for the variety of technical characteristics.
The very hot sunny day and the fully summer weather made us forget yesterday's problem with the lightning that blocked the ski lift. Accident that forced the organization to postpone the qualifying round of the Men's Agonists category until this morning. Manche in which Simone Medici (Pedroni Cycles Racing) finished in first position ahead of Carlo Caire (AB Devinci Italy) and Francesco Petrucci (Team Cingolani).
In the final heat Simone Medici confirmed his excellent form and his predilection for the Abetone track, winning this exciting Round # 3 of the Gravitalia National Circuit. With this double victory today Simone definitively leaves behind the memory of the bad injury he suffered exactly one year ago, returning to the top step of the podium.
Only 9 cents separate Francesco Colombo from the best time of the day. Another second place for the athlete of the Argentina Bike team Devinci Italy who, thanks to his consistency of results, places himself in first position in the circuit classification, earning the leader's jersey and at the same time helping to confirm his team in first place of the team ranking.
In third position Francesco Petrucci who, as always, proves dangerous and very fast. 85 cents for his detachment from Simone Medici. Three athletes on the podium in less than a second on such a long and demanding track demonstrate how fierce and fought this race has been.
Fourth position for Gianluca Vernassa (AB Devinci Italy) who then hands over the leader's jersey to team mate Colombo, while in fifth position the young Loris Revelli (AB Devinci Italy) closes the podium.
Veronika Widmann (ABC Egna Neumarkt) wins the final heat of the Female Agonist category, almost 5 seconds behind her rival Eleonora Farina (Mangusta Bike Team), victim of a fall.
Eleonora, thanks also to the victory in yesterday's qualifying heats, retains the jersey of circuit leader in her category. The third position is for Rosaria Fuccio (Ancillotti Doganaccia). In the Women Amateurs category Sara Mologni (Scout NukeProof) remains firmly in command of the general classification, also winning Round # 3 of Abetone.
In the Amateurs Men category it is Fabrizio Dragoni (Alessi Racing Team) again to conquer the top step of the podium and thanks to this victory he returns to wear the circuit leader jersey, snatching it from Luca Fusani (GS ProM) who closes in 8th place due to a fall.
In second position Nicolò Marsiglietti (Bikeland team) confirming the excellent performance of the qualifying heats, while the third place is for Emanuele Grimani (2010 Gravity Team).

The Gravitalia National Circuit returns to the field with Round # 4 in Bormio (SO) on 26/27 September, while the next appointment with the national DH is in Sestola (MO) with the Italian Championships on 18/19 July, where they will be assigned the tricolor jerseys for the fastest drivers in each category.
