There are some big news in the world of Enduro, as from next year the Enduro World Series (EWS & EWS-E) will be an official World Cup UCI!
Enduro will be alongside the historic fat wheel disciplines, namely Cross Country and Downhill. This means that all events of the upcoming season have been granted the status of World Cup. This is a big change, with the EWS changing its name to the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup (EDR).
2023 CALENDAR
Who will be able to compete in the EDR?
From 2023 onwards, only pre-qualified bikers will be able to participate in the UCI Enduro Mountain Bike World Cup. Just like in current EWS races, athletes will need a certain number of global ranking points to qualify.
What will happen to amateur competitions?
As we have already anticipated, there will still be amateur enduro racing! These competitions have always been an important part of the history of enduro and we don't want that to change. Races that are open to all, with no pre-qualification requirements, will be available at some of our races. These races will no longer be called EWS100 or EWS80, but the format will be almost identical, and will take place in the same locations as some EDR World Cups before the race. This means that anyone can race a World Cup course and then watch the pros compete a couple of days later – it's pretty much the ultimate mountain bike racing experience!

What rounds will amateur racing offer?
There are six races open next season; starting in Tasmania in March. Rounds one (Maydena) and two (Derby) have the honor of hosting the first two UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cups and amateur racing will be offered at both of these epic Australian venues in March. While the other four stages are still to be defined
Can I still earn points to progress to elite competition?
Yup! We want to continue to ensure there is a clear path to the top level of enduro competition, so classification points will be offered at all six of our races next year. The qualifying race series will also continue to ensure that up-and-coming riders can progress to the UCI Enduro Mountain Bike World Cup. Further details on this will be released in early 2023.

What will become of E-ews??
There will be a series of amateur e-enduro racing open to all in 2023 – more details on these will be released in January.
How can I enter?
Entry for the Tasman Rounds goes live in the week commencing 30 January 2023 and further details will be announced closer. Entry dates for the rest of the rounds will be announced in early January 2023.
