Challenge to the death between the 2 Swiss with the very simple tactic of Mathias Fluckiger: pull hard until everyone breaks away. Nino Schurter was the last to give up: the world champion lost a few meters on the last climb but then failed to return to the last short descent, arriving just 6 seconds and therefore unable to become the most successful biker in history.
Third place for Alan Hatherly, his great race, ahead of a constant Vlad Dascalu. First Italian Luca Braidot in 8th place: nice top10 for him. Good performance by Alessio Agostinelli (KTM Protek Elettrosystem): 31st.
Positive signals from Gerhard Kerschbaumer: the victory of last week was good for him, in fact, he finished in 12th place at 2'32 ”behind Mathias Fluckiger. We hope this is the beginning of a growing state of form.
