Thanks to a clean run, without major flaws, the 26-year-old transalpine of Team Commencal left behind the European Champion Andreas Kolb (Continental Atherton +3.008). In great shape from qualifying, the Austrian has interpreted the Black Snake in a very particular way, with totally different lines compared to his opponents.

Third place for the surprising American Dakotah Norton (Intense Factory Racing +3.129), right in front of compatriot and teammate Aaron Gwin (+4.491) who on "his" Black Snake (he has won 4 times in the past on this track) returned to roar with a very thick heat. The British Bernard Kerr (Pivot Factory Racing +5) completed the top 5.032.

HIGHLIGHTS

World Champion Loic Bruni (Specialized Gravity) was disappointing, only eighth, while compatriot Amaury Pierron (Commencal), despite a crash and an anonymous 54th place, managed to conquer the general classification of the World Cup for the second career time.

“Honestly when I don't make mistakes and manage to put together the perfect heat I always manage to make a gap, but it's very difficult to do”, confided Vergier. - “I am really thrilled to have succeeded on two occasions this year. I hope to be able to do it again next year. The track is so difficult, we spent some time figuring out where to put the wheels, but it's always a gamble: that's why sometimes we crash and sometimes we do big heats. This season I have regained confidence, I can't wait for the next one to start ”.

“I didn't have a plan in mind, I only thought about driving. I tried, I also had good sensations, but the rain up above messed up my plans. Unfortunately I slipped and rolled over on the rocks. I didn't want it to end like this, but these are the races. I won the World Cup and I'm equally happy, ”explained Pierron.

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
