Other news from the new management of the Mountain Bike World Cup (Warner Bros Discovery in agreement with the UCI). In fact, the Short Track acquires more and more importance with the addition of men's and women's U23 races.
So now there will no longer be only the Elite trials (male and female) but the future U23 champions will be able to see in action.
Last year the Short Track overall was won by South African Alan Hatherly and Swiss Alessandra Keller (see results). This change, which adds even more races to the intense weeks of the World Cup, will mean that the U23s will be able to gradually get closer to the pace of the Elite but, more importantly, it is a significant leap in quality in terms of visibility. Let's remember that Warner Bros. Discovery has also shown interest in covering live XCO U23 races.
