Tuscany Trail, an adventure in deep Tuscany

Green hills with rows of cypress trees under a blue sky with thin clouds and airplane contrails.
Tuscan landscape with cypress trees and wide skies, ideal for cycling and nature enthusiasts.

Departure May 1st 2015. What is the Tuscany Trail? It is an adventure, not a race, in other words an experience: an unusual, exciting and uncertain bikepacking experience. 640 km, with an elevation gain of 12000m, where half of these are on dirt roads and paths.

The Tuscany trail passes through the most spectacular landscapes of this region: the Apuan Alps, the historic center of Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Pienza, the Val d'Orcia and the Argentario peninsula. Renaissance and natural beauties, side by side along the route. As in a puzzle where every single piece of a large drawing fits perfectly, so sport, nature, culture and art become part of this adventure.

It is not supported, i.e. there is a common start and a GPS track, but nothing more. Everyone must plan the path by listening to their needs and attitudes or listening to what their body communicates. There will be those who will challenge themselves and those who will take it slow, enjoying the splendid landscape.
