Trek today unveiled the all-new Fuel EX, bringing superior efficiency and adjustability to the trail bike category. The Fuel EX model enters its new generation preparing to tackle increasingly challenging routes and ever greater speeds thanks to increased travel and a more open geometry that simplify the way to tackle jumps, rocks and roots.

Trek has equipped the new Fuel EX with a 140mm rear suspension paired with a 150mm fork. The additional travel is complemented by a more open head tube with a 64,5 degree angle and a more vertical seat tube with a 77,2 degree angle. All this guarantees a balanced, safe and effective ride both on bumpy trails and on challenging climbs.
Since no two riders have the same characteristics, Fuel EX offers a wide range of new adjustment options. To increase or decrease the angle of the head tube by one degree without affecting the height of the bottom bracket, optional headset cups (sold separately) can be installed. Thanks to the return of Mino Link technology, the angle of the head tube is adjustable by an additional half degree.
Fuel EX also offers a lever ratio that can be varied thanks to an integrated device directly on the lower shock absorber support. Riders have the opportunity to choose between a less progressive setting for a softer ride feel (ideal on rough terrain) and a more progressive setting for greater compressive strength, ideal for tackling very bumpy trails.
The new frame design of the Fuel EX increases the possibilities of use of aftermarket products. The new configuration increases compatibility with shock absorbers, including coil spring solutions, while the seat tube increased to 34,9mm allows you to install larger and more reliable dropper posts. The frame is compatible with mullet configurations, preferred by riders who want to take advantage of the agility of the 27.5 "wheels and the smoothness of the 29" wheels.
The Aluminum Fuel EX frames now feature a downtube storage compartment (advanced technology previously reserved for the carbon model only) and a BITS Bontrager handbag to keep essential gear organized and close at hand.
All frames are equipped with internal routing which facilitates maintenance and reduces noise generated by cables. A two-piece protection, directly bolted to the frame, protects against bumps and scratches. The Fuel EX model is available in a variety of sizes from XS to XXL, thus addressing an ever-growing fleet of riders. Each bike is equipped as standard with wheels adapted to the size, from the 27.5 "installed on the XS versions to the 29" supplied in all other sizes. On size S bikes, riders will have the option of choosing between 27.5 "or 29" rims.
In addition to the wheels, the chainstays on the Fuel EX are also size specific. This allows it to offer greater agility to smaller riders and better front traction uphill for taller riders.
The increased travel, more effective geometry and adjustment characteristics allow the new Fuel EX to tackle any terrain, at any time.
