THOK presents a new e-mtb model: the Gram!

Enduro Full Carbon that brings a breath of fresh air to the Thok brand: everything new, from geometry to assembly. Shimano EP8 engine, 630wh integrated battery and Mullet trim.

THOK E-Bikes announces the arrival on the market of its first e-mtb with a carbon fiber frame: it's called Gram. The new e-enduro expands the range of the Alba company, adding to the MIG series for All-Mountain, TK01 for Enduro and the HT model, for mixed Trail-Urban use.

"Gram" in the Piedmontese dialect means "bad". It indicates resoluteness of character, that healthy anger that pushes to obtain a result, to reach a goal.

HUMAN

The design is signed, as for all the other THOK bikes, by Aldo Drudi's D-Perf. Winner of countless Awards, designer of the famous helmets of well-known MotoGP riders, Drudi has made the Gram an iconic representative of refined Italian Style.

FULL CARBON

The new Gram is full carbon. The use of carbon fiber has allowed THOK to create different angles, lines and shapes and innovative geometries. The arrangement of the layers was created thanks to FEM (Finite Element Analysis) which made it possible to identify the points of greatest stress and those that could be lightened because they are less critical. Different types of fabrics and weaves were therefore chosen; on the most stressed areas THOK opted for UD carbon fiber. The unidirectionality of the fibers, suitably arranged, increases the mechanical resistance.

The frame is made up of both "high-strength" carbon fibers, which make it more resistant and less rigid where needed, and "high-modulus" carbon fibers, to improve stiffness and response to bending, especially laterally.
The FEM simulations that led to the lay-up of the frame were then put to the test on various prototypes, tested on the mountains where THOK has baptized all its models
The result? Corners, curves and junction points are reinforced to ensure maximum strength but also flexibility; The engine area, head tube and rear stay are instead characterized by extreme stiffness.

All the cables have been integrated into the frame inside sheaths drowned in the carbon fiber while the bearings of the suspension system joints are positioned in direct contact with the carbon, without aluminum bushings. A "detail" that ensures an increase in stiffness, solves the problems of friction and wear and gives the vehicle aesthetic purity.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

At the rear of the Gram frame, the low sheaths of the full carbon rear stay immediately catch the eye with an asymmetrical design and integrated cable routing. This original solution favors maximum traction uphill and great reactivity downhill.

The new UDH dropout compatible with all transmission systems on the market, easy to maintain and available, safeguards the integrity of the transmission, rotating backwards in the event of an impact and improves shifting performance.
Above the bottom bracket stand out the "T-Ribs", also made of carbon fiber: they provide support, dissipating the pressure produced by use and making pedaling more effective. In addition, they improve the lateral stiffness of the frame.
The new TPS-2 linkage system, also designed by THOK, increases progressiveness: the rear wheel easily absorbs obstacles when going downhill and offers excellent traction when going uphill. The compression curve has been adapted to the enduro character.

The downtube is characterized by carbon with differentiated thickness and its "C" shaped section helps to disperse tensions during use on rough terrain. It has been extremely verticalised, with the aim of lowering the center of gravity and further facilitating uphill pedaling.
The Big Eye of the T-Front System decreases stress in the steering area during use on the roughest tracks. Stiffness and steering precision are always guaranteed thanks to the tapered 1.8 head tube.
Finally, note the T-stopper, the steering lock that prevents damage to the carbon frame and the tearing of the cables in the event of excessive rotation of the handlebar.

COMPONENTS

The bicycle is designed around the reliable, easily removable closed system that allows convenient charging separate from the bike. The assistance offers two settings: "long" and "fast" ride with the possibility of further customization of the parameters.
The bicycle is available in two versions: Gram and Gram RC. The former has a red-grey colour, the latter grey-black.
The Gram set-up includes FOX suspension, 170mm of travel both front and rear, SRAM 4-piston brakes with 200mm discs, SRAM 12-speed gearbox and Maxxis Assegai tires in mullet trim.

On the Gram RC, the FOX fork travel increases to 180 mm, with the factory version of the 38 Float mounted up front and the Float X2 for the rear shock. The handlebar is a carbon Renthal, the rims are Crankbrothers. The gearbox is electronic and the brakes are Shimano Deore XT 4-piston 203 mm. Here too, the tires are Maxxis Assegai, always in the 29" configuration at the front and 27,5" at the rear.

READY TO SHIP

The THOK Gram is already available, in sizes S, M, L and XL, at the following retail prices in the euro area:
GRAM = €7.490 including VAT GRAM RC = €9.900 including VAT
Prices include shipping costs and the Gram Box, an accessory case containing suspension master cylinder, multitool, key ring with UDH dropout, water bottle and bottle cage, lasered aluminum cup and sticker kit.
The bike can be purchased indifferently online at www.thokebikes.com or at authorized dealers (list of Thok Points HERE).

[email protected] I am a fan of everything that has 2 wheels: at a young age I practiced road and track cycling (Italian Allievi champion). At the age of 18 I passed into the cross country competing at national/international level as an Under23. Past Elite, I made the choice to take things more lightly from a training point of view, and my love for gravity disciplines was born, training me as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made passion my profession by managing 2 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Bike Center Elba and Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
