On the occasion of the Italian Bike Festival in Rimini, from 11 to 13 September, THOK launches on the market the first series model of the TK01 range, presented for the first time in June 2020 with a very exclusive LTD version, produced in only 35 specimens.
The TK01 is an e-Enduro equipped with many unique and innovative solutions. An ambitious project, which has seen over two years of testing and which encompasses all of Stefano Migliorini's experience in competitions. Like the famous MIG, the TK01 also boasts a Made in Italy design. It was in fact designed by the D-Perf of Aldo Drudi, the award-winning Italian designer, who created unique objects and graphics - from motorboats, motorcycles to the original helmets of Valentino Rossi and many MotoGP riders. The engineering of its frame was entrusted to the German studio coordinated by Luca Burzio, an industrial designer with great passion and knowledge of the sector.
NEW GEOMETRY FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE
TK01 features the same frame as the TK01 Limited, made of heat-treated 6061 aluminum alloy T4 T6, with hydroformed parts, CNC machined and integrated cables. It introduces a new THOK geometry called TCG Plus (THOK Control Geometry Plus), with an elongated top tube, inclined downwards. It also boasts the new tapered 1.8 head-tube standard, just launched on the market. The head angle is 64,5 °, while that of the seat tube is 75,5 °.
Characterized by a very low standover, the frame of the TK01 features a short rear stay, with oversized tubes. The meeting point between the top tube - with the “Viper Head” design - and the verticalized down tube, gives stiffness to the innovative steering area. The low center of gravity, typical of THOK e-mtb, is given by the 630 Wh battery integrated in the down tube, specially verticalized to position it very close to the engine.
Revolutionary and unique is the steering area with the latest generation head-tube: the "merge" between the 170 mm Rock Shox Yari fork and the innovative new oversize standard head tube, marks an epochal change in the concept of the steering area. of e-mtb.
The TCG Plus geometry ensures driving comfort and greater control in the most technical passages, maximum traction on all types of terrain and a safe, performing and fun “downhill” set-up.
NEW SHIMANO EP8 ENGINE
The TK01 is a “race ready” e-enduro which, among the first in the world, is equipped with the highly anticipated Shimano EP8 engine with integrated 630Wh battery. The battery has been masterfully incorporated into the down tube, verticalized for the purpose also to guarantee the typical low center of gravity of THOK e-bikes. With its 2,6 kg weight, the EP8 of the Japanese house is one of the lightest engines on the market: silenced, maximum torque increased to 85 Nm, friction reduction by 36%, offers great power with a smooth delivery and natural. Combined with the E-Tube Project App it is fully customizable to the biker's physical and track needs.
The TK01 is equipped as standard with an aluminum battery cover and a lightweight, impact-resistant polypropylene engine guard. Separately, it is possible to purchase the "T-Wings", which function as a fender. Also available, always separately, battery cover and engine guard made of carbon fiber, Made in Italy.
OVERSIZE TPS “THOK PROGRESSIVE SYSTEM” REAR WAGON
The proven THOK rear suspension system with metric shock absorber and dedicated rocker, designed for the e-mtb of the house, offers a progressive suspension and, together with the oversize rear stay, ensures stiffness, excellent maneuverability, perfect traction and reactivity in all conditions.
Particular attention was also given to the braking system: the innovative THOK DISC MOUNT mounts the brake caliper directly on the frame, without the aid of adapters. Add to this the choice of 4-piston SRAM Guide T disc brakes with 203mm discs.
As for the wheels, the TK01 is fitted with wheels of different diameters with MAXXIS Assegai tires 29 "x 2.6 front / 27.5" x 2.6 rear, so as to allow it to overcome any obstacle with momentum.
Finally, to make starting the engine convenient and immediate, the “EASY TOUCH” button is inserted under the top tube, in a protected but easy-to-access position.
The TK01 is the ideal vehicle for fans of the most adrenaline-pumping physical activity and strong sensations, those that only the e-Enduro can offer. It is the ideal companion for any enthusiast: more excursion to be free to tackle any track, more autonomy to be free to extend the duration of the "raid", more braking power to be free to tackle all types of descents in safety.
