After the debut in 2021, the cycling population enthusiastically welcomed the "snowcross" show again in 2022, both in presence, in the unique location of the San Leonardo lakes, and in front of television screens from all over the world. The greatest interpreters of the discipline worldwide will return to compete in unique environmental conditions. The Italian event is in fact the only one in the cyclocross winter designed to be contested on a snowy surface.
Last December, the Belgian Michael Vanthourenhout, reigning European Champion, and the Dutch Puck Pieterse prevailed on the snow of Vermiglio.
“We are also happy to host the Cyclo-Cross World Cup for the third consecutive season. A clear sign of how the bet made two years ago with Flanders Classics has been fully won”, said the President of APT Val di Sole and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole Luciano Rizzi. – “The cyclo-cross World Cup represents a great opportunity for our territory, establishing itself in just two years as a symbolic event of our winter season. The path we started with cyclocross also represents a driving force for our Alpine Gravel project, destined to become a cornerstone of our bike offer".
The Cyclocross World Cup event in Val di Sole is organized by Grandi Eventi Val di Sole and APT Val di Sole, with the consultancy of Flanders Classics and the collaboration of the Pontedilegno-Tonale Consortium.
With the announcement of the date of the Vermiglio show, the 2023 calendar of events dedicated to two-wheelers in Val di Sole is completed.
