A first look at the location that will host the # 4 test of EWS 14 with Anka and Sven Martin
VIDEO BY ROCKINTHEMIDDLE.COM
The Enduro World Series season is almost upon us and the location of La Thuile is increasingly eager to host a great event like this and to show its territory and its paths to the world mtb scene.
Together with two exceptional bikers today we visit a corner of this unspoiled paradise for mountain biking. Anka and Sven Martin present us the high altitude scenery of La Thuile, through a path that from the crests of Fourclaz descends to the splendid Verney lake, passing through the Piccolo San Bernardo Pass, a very important communication route, which since ancient links Italy and France. At the same time we get to know our two guides and their backgrounds better. Let's find out what they think and how they have become what they are now, a point of reference for many, two professionals in the sector who love nature and are passionate about their work.

The love for adventure and the curiosity to explore are the feelings that drove Anka and Sven to travel the world with their mtb driven by the desire to look beyond every curve, every pass, and to fully savor the places visited. .
Valle d'Aosta, the Italian region that is home to the highest mountains in Europe such as Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, the Rosa group and many others, is certainly the ideal setting for this kind of experience, where those who put themselves at stake is rewarded with immense satisfaction and gratification.

Reaching a mountain pass like the Piccolo San Bernardo at an altitude of 2.200m means spending several hours riding your mountain bike, it means admiring breathtaking views shaped and sculpted by ancient glaciers and the strength of the elements, it means living in a only day a complete adventure made of fatigue on the pedals and sweat from the forehead. But once you arrive at your destination, it also and above all means a lot of descent to go home down to La Thuile at 1.500 meters.
What if you could get to Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo from the mountain, from Colle del Fourclaz at 2600mt, cycling only 200mt and all the rest of the altitude covered by ski lifts? Wouldn't that be amazing?

At this point the Piccolo San Bernardo Pass would be there below us, 400-500 meters below and we on the roof of the world admiring the majestic peaks while maybe we munch on a fruit, rest our legs and get ready for the descent.
In front of us hundreds of meters of altitude made of natural paths and single tracks with a mainly rocky bottom, between pastures and lakes that seem almost hand-painted. Here in this area there are no woods, the ground is completely open, the wind blows and runs as fast as our mountain bike.
This is a slice, a taste or it would be better to say a delicious appetizer of what La Thuile offers and that you will find at the fourth stage of the Enduro World Series on 12 and 13 July 2014!

ABOUT SUPERENDURO
The Superenduro is a circuit dedicated to Enduro competitions, a competitive outlet for those who want to prove that they are a complete biker. A return to the origins of mountain biking, when you didn't worry if you were an xcer freerider or dhiller, you simply got on your bike and went out to ride in contact with nature and for the pleasure of discovery. A selective discipline, where you compete in a ring course in which long and technical timed descents are preceded by an uphill pedaled transfer, like in a car rally, better still, an enduro motorcycle race.
