On 26/27 May Superenduro returns to Calestano, a place that in 2017 was only partially discovered due to the adverse weather, but which surprised everyone for the quality of the trails as well as for that of the food?
After the rocks and the technical terrain of Sanremo, now comes the speed and flow of Calestano, a completely different race than the previous one but no less demanding.
This year the Alpicella Bike Park staff worked hard on the trails to offer all riders new sensations in the saddle and a different race in its development compared to last season. Two completely new lines have been opened that bring the race to a total of about 15km timed against 10km in 2017.
The Special Stages remain 4 and this figure in relation to the increase in mileage suggests less slope and more flow, with long, flowing trails full of open curves where the bike can fly.
Manuel Ducci, technical manager, declares: “The speed on the special stages here is quite high and this is due to the conformation of the terrain and the slopes along which most of the stages are developed. The bottom is smooth, there are often raises and the real unknown will be the grip. During the inspection we had fun like crazy, the bike was often sideways and with her feet off the pedals ”.
The last Special Stage of the day will cross the historic center of Calestano between the tables of the pasta party that for the occasion would be the case to call pizza fritta party and all this a few meters from the Event Village area and the Paddock Team located in the Ferrari Arena.
Lots of entertainment and fun for the second race of the season, a very important stage in the championship where scoring points could mean facing the difficult next round of Canazei EWS Continental with more serenity and less pressure.
We remind all Italian riders that registration on the FCI K factor is mandatory by and no later than 24:00 on Thursday 24 / May, while online registrations for the Superenduro close at 20.00 on Thursday 24.
The official announcement of the race route is scheduled for Friday 18, in the meantime in the race card you will find the information available with all the services such as the shuttle service and the links to book accommodation.
Calestano Superenduro is waiting for you to have fun.
