The Shimano Deore MTB component group embraces 12 speeds and features revamped 11 and 10 speed versions.
Shimano releases its latest 12-speed MTB component group, the SHIMANO DEORE M6100 series, along with the new 5100-speed SHIMANO DEORE M11 and 4100-speed SHIMANO DEORE M10 versions, taking premium technologies to a new price level.
SHIMANO DEORE M6100 series (12-speed)
Shimano's 12-speed technologies are featured in every SHIMANO DEORE level component.
1 × 12 Crankset: The SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed crankset (FC-M6100) with its elegant metallic color design is available in only one configuration (1 × 12). It features the same DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT + technology as the XTR, SHIMANO DEORE XT and SLX cranksets which, with its narrow / wide tooth profile, provides the key to improved chain retention, smoothness and quiet drivetrain. For a safe and fast mounting of the chainring, the crank arm is equipped with a direct mounting system that makes changing the chainring a breeze.
The customer can choose between 170mm or 175mm cranks, 30T or 32T chainrings (although there is full compatibility between smaller or larger SLX, XT and XTR range chainrings) and choose between three different Q factors: from 172mm (for a 142 / 148mm OLD), 178mm (148mm OLD) or 181mm (157mm OLD). Two other SHIMANO DEORE branded cranksets are also available, FC-MT511-1 (30T, 32T) and FC-MT510-1 (30T, 32T, 34T).
Rear Derailleur: SHIMANO DEORE 12-speed rear derailleur (RD-M6100-SGS) allows for precise and quick shifting on the 10-51T cassette. The 13-tooth pulley and SHIMANO SHADOW RD + technology reduce chain vibrations and offer better chain retention thanks to a stiffer derailleur arm that ensures greater chain tension.
Brakes: SHIMANO DEORE M6100 brakes are available in the XC-specific two-piston caliper version (BR-M6100) and in the trail / enduro variant with four-piston caliper (BR-M6120). Both systems feature a redesigned brake lever (BL-M6100) which provides increased stiffness for better driving feedback and more power. The brake levers are equipped with Shimano's proven SERVO WAVE technology which results in faster pad / rotor engagement, better power and shorter travel. Both calipers can be used with resin or metal pads and are natively compatible with SM-RT64 or SM-RT54 rotors.
The range of components is completed by the operating lever of the dropper post, SL-MT500. This lever allows riders to quickly operate the seat post without sacrificing hand position on the grip. The SL-MT500 dropper post lever is available with clamp attachment or in the I-SPEC EV variant for an even tidier handlebar.
SHIMANO DEORE 12-, 11- and 10-speed components will be available in bike shops starting summer 2020.
