The wait was longer than initially expected, but now the Sardinia Mountain Bike Rally is really ready to resume its path, which began in 2008. The great Mountain Bike is preparing to penetrate the beating heart of Sardinia, not only as sport, but as a lifestyle and means of transport to live authentic experiences in contact with wild nature and surrounded by wonderful landscapes.

The event, which will start tomorrow, Wednesday 8 June, with the first stage from Lanusei to Gairo Taquisara, will be Ogliastra. Four stages to be faced for the athletes at the start, for a total of 310 km (143 km of special stages) and a good 8658 meters of total altitude difference.

Today, Tuesday 7 June, was dedicated to the preliminary operations of this ninth edition which will end on Saturday 11 June in Bari Sardo, in front of the majestic medieval tower of Barì.

Organized by Wild Track ASD under the aegis of the Italian Cycling Federation, the Rally di Sardegna Mountain Bike, the second event of the "Sardegna Outdoor" project, will be held with the typical format of Rally Raids for cars and motorcycles, with special tests that will determine the ranking general alternating with non-timed transfer sections but with maximum travel time.

OGLIASTRA AT ITS BEST: MARMORA GOES UP TO PUNTA

If in the first stage tomorrow, starting in Lanusei and arriving in Gairo Taquisara, Perda Liana and the famous Ogliastra heels will characterize a very selective track, in the second stage the athletes will have to face the "bugbear" Punta La Marmora, the roof of Sardinia with its 1834 meters of altitude, immersed in the heart of the Gennargentu.

Altimetrically less demanding, but far from free of pitfalls, the last two hamlets that will have the alternation between sea and mountains as their characterizing element. In a few kilometers you will pass from the heights of Ogliastra to beaches of undoubted charm, such as the beach of Barì dominated by the ancient Spanish tower, symbol of a territory to be discovered on a mountain bike.

After each stage, on the YouTube channel of the Rally di Sardegna MTB, a summary will be published with all the most spectacular highlights of the day.
