The E-TUBE RIDE application can be used in conjunction with all SHIMANO STEPS drive units currently in circulation, including the E8000 and E7000 systems dedicated to MTB riding and the E6100 and E5000 systems dedicated to urban riding.

The new application offers consumers an alternative to using the SHIMANO STEPS system computer (including SC-E8000 / 7000/6100 units). Different screen display options show driving details in ECO and BOOST modes on SHIMANO STEPS E7000 and E8000 systems

The features of the E-TUBE RIDE application are: Display of important driving parameters such as speed, gear, distance, support mode, automatic transmission, torque level, time of day, lights, battery level and remaining distance.

Display of warnings, such as low battery life or other system problems (eg Speed sensor misaligned, drive unit calibration required, etc.), which are linked to a web address for additional explanations on the go.

Customizations such as the choice of language and metric units of measure

Color display to quickly illustrate support modes

Touch screen technology, which means the display can be easily customized while driving with pinch or swipe movements

Changing the delivery characteristics of the assistance unit between Explorer mode which conserves battery, High acceleration Dynamic mode or Custom settings

To use the application you need the new EW-EN100 bluetooth device to pair the phone with the bike and manage the transfer of information. The device also contains a toggle switch that allows you to change how the drive unit is delivered instead of using the switch on the left side of the handlebar, allowing you to create an even more minimal bike.
