A few months ago the sudden disappearance of Dario Acquaroli, mountain bike champion from Bergamo, former world champion, has left the whole off-road world dismayed.

The will of his family, close friends and some companies where Dario had worked, prompted one of the most historic and important MTB events, the MW Bike of Iseo, formerly GimondiBike, to take his name.
La Dario Acquaroli is born, the MTB race that will take place on Sunday 17 September 2023 in Iseo and among the beautiful paths of Franciacorta, from this year it will bear the name of the late biker from San Pellegrino Terme who was, among other things, particularly attached to this event and its organization.
The graphic representation of the new event logo (in the photo) stems from the idea of using the letters W, M and A (Acquaroli). W stands for Wheels, the two wheels; M for Mountain and Mud, or rather the nature and typicality of MTB tracks between mud and ups and downs; A Like Acquaroli, like Goodbye, like Friend, like Love for sport.
Furthermore, visually, the combination of these 3 letters recalls an altimetry, therefore the technical passages of climbs, descents and hairpin bends.
The colours: they are those of Dario Acquaroli's rainbow in 1993 and 1996, but also those of the wonderful Franciacorta and Lake Iseo. The naming of the event rises above a rainbow ray. In turn, the ray completes the letter A, highlighted and repeated in the initial of the surname Acquaroli.
