In the land that since 2008 has become the undisputed Italian capital of off-road riding, home of three editions of the MTB World Championships and permanent venue of the Cross Country World Cup and Downhill (this year from 29 June to 2 July), a new exclusive project with a strong identity was born, which fits in an original way within the current trend in the cycling world: the gravel universe.

Val di Sole is ready to officially launch its ALPINE GRAVEL project, developed in 2022 in collaboration with Helios. Val di Sole's ALPINE GRAVEL offer consists of six itineraries designed throughout the valley, tested and approved by numerous representatives of the gravel community, involved precisely in the development phase of the proposal to make it live up to the expectations of a type of rider looking for of an experience with very specific characteristics.

Compared to the idea of Gravel born in other territories of different morphologies, ALPINE GRAVEL represents a strongly identifying proposal linked to the uniqueness of the Alpine context that frames the Val di Sole: it could not be a Gravel like the others, and has no intention to be.

ALPINE GRAVEL requires an athletic and technical commitment on average higher than the more traditional practice on dirt roads, albeit not extreme, which is rewarded by the variety and uniqueness of the landscapes of the Val di Sole, and by the emotion of reaching territories with your own Gravel bike and absolutely new experiences for fans of the genre.

The ALPINE GRAVEL routes develop at an altitude between 650 and 2.200 meters above sea level, with a maximum length of about 60 km and overall height differences between 950 and 1.890 meters. The starting point of most of the ALPINE GRAVEL itineraries is concentrated near the stations of Mezzana, Dimaro and Caldes, in order to allow you to arrive in Val di Sole and enjoy a unique experience only in the company of your bike, without the need to use the car, and possibly using the BikeTrain and BikeBus services active in the long summer season, starting from the month of April (for more details click here).
