The 2023 Gravel World Championships have been revoked from Filippo Pozzato's club

Here is the official statement of the Federciclismo regarding the revocation of the Gravel World Championships to Pippo Pozzato's company which were to take place in October in Veneto.

In particular, with regard to the world championship in question, the revocation of the organization of the 2023 Gravel World Championships to PP SPORT EVENTS SRL was communicated to the same organizing company (to which you can contact to find out the reasons) by the International Cycling Union with letter and, for information, to the Italian Cycling Federation. Therefore the reconstructions reported in these hours regarding an intervention by the FCI itself, and by the president Dagnoni in particular, to steal the organization of the event from the company in question are completely invented. It is true, however, that the Italian Cycling Federation, having taken note of the UCI's decision, promptly took steps to ensure that the organization of the event was not destined elsewhere.

I deeply thank the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Asiago for the support received and for having believed in the project from the very first minute. We keep strong the pride and satisfaction of having staged, in 2022, the first historic edition of the UCI Gravel World Championship between Vicenza and Cittadella, and of having therefore elected Veneto as a forerunner region for a discipline destined to grow more and more in international level in the coming years Philip Pozzato

But then the UCI's choice fell on other organizers. Although we were ready to set up another beautiful world championship, we continue to work to create great cycling events in our splendid area. We are fully focused on strengthening the Ride the Dreamland-Giro del Veneto, Serenissima Gravel, Social Ride VENEtoGO, Veneto Classic races – which will bring the great champions along the Venetian roads from 11 to 15 October 2023. To the new organizers of the World Championship Gravel 2023 sends our sincere wishes for the success of the event – Philip Pozzato

[email protected] I am a fan of everything that has 2 wheels: at a young age I practiced road and track cycling (Italian Allievi champion). At the age of 18 I passed into the cross country competing at national/international level as an Under23. Past Elite, I made the choice to take things more lightly from a training point of view, and my love for gravity disciplines was born, training me as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made passion my profession by managing 2 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Bike Center Elba and Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
