Great battle for the supremacy in round 3 of the Toscano Enduro Series which with the Vaiano stage once again confirms all its spectacularity with Tommaso Calonaci of the TSI Freebike who managed to overtake Tommaso Francardo only in the last stage after the rider of the Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team had managed to excel in the top 2.

The fight then moved on to the very long SS 3 where, thanks to a great performance, Calonaci managed to break away from the fantastic time of 6.30,71, thus bringing home both the absolute test lead and the race record, overtaking Francardo just 3 seconds later. over 18 minutes of competition.
Excellent third place for the revived Nicola Grotti who, despite the revelry for the birthday party the night before, nonetheless confirmed his excellent form by detaching the ticket for the last step of the podium.
Among the women, victory went to Nadine Ellecosta (Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team) who dominated the race by winning all the stages, thus overtaking Irene Savelli (Young Riderz Pistoia) and Francesca Bonanni (Bikappa Bikes) in third place.
The Juniors saw Luca Donati (Arezzo cycling school) hoist himself on the top step of the podium overtaking Filippo Amerio (Pedale Canellese) in a bitter and hard-fought duel which, given the results of these first races, seems destined to last throughout the season.
Worth noting is a huge participation for the very young athletes of the Beginners and Students categories with over 100 kids at the start. In the Allievi category, the Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team scored a double with the Prima victorious by Lorenzo Noferini ahead of his teammate Matteo Falcini and Alessio Battilani of the TSI Free Bike. In the rookies, the top positions continue to mix race after race as evidence of a great balance, this time the paths of Monte Iavello rewarded Piero Grillo of the Canellese Pedal who managed to overtake Luca Capacci of the Arezzo cycling school ahead of Matteo Fontanelli of the Young Riderz Pistoia.
In the masters victories respectively for Giulio Monnecchi (SAM sport) in the M1s, Matteo Rimondo (Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team) in the M2s, by a great Marco Mazzi (Bicycleria) in the M3s, by Alessandro Bagnoli (I-MTB) in the M4s, by Giacomo Cori (Attitude Team) in the M5, by the returning Michele Cortopassi (Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team) in the M6 and by the revived Tommaso Lumini in the M7.
E-BIKE RACE
Among the almost 150 "electric" bikes, Andrea Paoloni (NSR Factory Team) won ahead of the great Moto GP champion Marco Melandri (WeRide Fulgur) and Diego Benassi (Monkey Racing Team).
Worth mentioning in this category is the forced forfeit of the "legend" Bruno Zanchi who crashed on Saturday in practice in a sufficiently ruinous way to not allow him to participate in the race but fortunately not so serious as to scratch the armor of the indestructible Lombard champion.
The race started at 8 from the pro loco of Schignano and developed on the wonderful paths that descend from the summit of Mount Iavello towards Vallupaia, where a large crowd gathered to admire the evolution of the athletes.
Great satisfaction from the mayor Primo Bosi for the important tourist implications that the event has brought to the whole territory not only in the days of the competition but also and above all in the previous days with all the athletes engaged for weeks in the tests and with over 3000 attendances over the weekend of the race between athletes, technicians and companions. But not only that, the great resonance of the championship will be able to highlight the great work done on the trails by Michele Gianotti and Daniele Tassi who, thanks to the wise direction of the president Stefano Giugni at the command of the Vaiano Bike team, have managed to create a new tourist product that in the near future it will certainly bring an influx of amateur riders eager to test the routes used by the TES athletes and thus creating an important totally new tourist movement for the municipality of Vaiano.
