More than 300 riders from 12 countries! At the end international level with victory of Anneke Beerten (Specialized) and Marco Milivinti (Torpado). Impeccable organization by RideAway together with the Enduro Series staff.
For the majority of foreign riders Terlago was a surprise. Beautiful tracks with fast alternatives to technical curves and stones, everything an Enduro athlete could wish for. The route measured 40km by 1500m with 5 PS (30km and 3 PS for those who did the short route).
During the Saturday the ground was even dusty with the enthusiastic athletes but then on Sunday all the cards on the table changed. Before the actual race on Sunday, the previous day the prologue took place on the last stretch of the PS5 with about 50m of ascent and then tackled a fairly steep stretch with small steps that made the audience happy to see the various athletes throwing themselves into the descent.
In the prologue, the victory, in the men's field, went to Michal Prokop (Specialized) who beat a surprising Marco De Col (Pedali di Marco), a boy from XC, while in 3rd place was Martino Fruet (Carraro), with an 80mm front! Here, too, Enduro proves to be an all-round discipline that awards athletes from different sports. Michal Prokop started in BMX and then became 4cross world champion in 2011. Now he is dedicating himself to enduro and with great results.
Among the females, Anneke Berten (Specialized) won ahead of Antje Kramer (Giant) and Richter Raphaela (Radon Factory). Berten also has a background in BMX where she won 2 world championships and then dedicated herself to more gravity disciplines such as DH and Enduro. BMX therefore proves to be a fundamental discipline to learn the basics, for those who still do not know it.
On Sunday awakening the athletes instead found a nice storm that wet the path and made it almost impractical during the day. The dusty sections have been transformed, presenting a slippery and difficult to interpret terrain. Many alteti sprinted hard to try to find the driest terrain but the winner Marco Milivinti kept a steady pace and managed to excel anyway. After the victory in the 1st round of SuperEnduro he repeats himself proving a very complete athlete capable of excelling both in DH and in Enduro. Second and third place for the Germans Dohl (Cube) and Scholz (Focus). Prokop stops in 4th place. To report the 7th place of Martino Fruet who competed with a bike he was using for the first time.
In the Pro Women the favorite Anneke Beerten won with a total time of 30: 41.63, one minute before the very young Raphaela Richter, still 16 years old. In third place Braumann Birgit. The victory in the Masters category goes to the Austrian Benedikt Purner, the amateur Men to Daniel Von Kossak and the amateur Woman to the German Düthmann Anja.
The Specialized SRAM Enduro Series circuit will now make a stop in Riva Del Garda, also in Italy, for the second round. I sEntities will be much more stony than in Terlago and we hope that this time the weather will help the athletes.
