Keegan Swenson (USA, February 16, 1994) is an athlete cross country with many experiences in the American continent and a 360° vision of MTB. After the excellent performances in the youth categories in the World Cup, over time he has also dedicated himself to the aspect that lies beyond competitive spirit. ELITE national champion in 2019, he obtained some good placements in the Short Track format in the World Cup.
The Leadville 100 is one of the most popular races in America and is part of a MTB race calendar of its own, outside the UCI, but of enormous popularity, of great media impact and with good cash prizes. It is 100 miles (160km) and 3.800 meters of elevation gain. It is a fast, non-technical race that also brought together protagonists from the world of the road: how can we not forget the participations (and victories) of Lance Armstrong and Levi Lepheimer. Lakata holds the race record, being the only winner to have fallen below 6 hours (Swenson closed in exactly 6h).
Keegan Swenson had already won the Leadville in 2021 but this year he lowered the time by 11 minutes! From 6h11'26 "to 6h00'01". Surprisingly, second place went to a professional ski touring athlete, John Gaston. Howard Grotts completed the podium.

As if that were not enough, Swenson showed up at the SBT Gravel event the next day (with less than 24 hours of recovery) and managed to win in the sprint after returning in the last kilometers on the leading trio. In two days he has accumulated 386km of racing with 6.100m of elevation gain and about 12 hours of running.
