The third round of the 2017 Superenduro season in La Thuile was a race of the highest technical level that saw 450 riders from 15 nations battling on the legendary paths of the Aosta Valley in one of the two Italian races valid as Enduro World Series Qualifiers.

The splendid town of La Thuile, nestled between the peaks and alpine glaciers of the Aosta Valley, hosted the third round of the Superenduro National Circuit, a long weekend of mountain biking in a location that has sporting events and outdoor life one of its strengths in terms of tourism.

From the free practice on Friday and Saturday it was immediately clear to everyone that La Thuile Superenduro was going to be a demanding and highly competitive race. The trails are among the most spectacular in the world, with significant differences in height and technical difficulties worthy of a world test. The fact that La Thuile Superenduro was valid as a 2018 Enduro World Series Qualifying Event has increased the spectacle of the event by attracting an impressive number of riders from all over the world with 15 nations present at the start.

The best performers of this La Thuile Superenduro were Nicola Casadei (Team CMC Cycling Experience) and Tracy Moseley (T-MO Racing). Both riders never gave up the lead, winning practically all the special stages and imposing an impressive pace on their pursuers.
Nicholas CasadeiI had a bad taste in my mouth since I finished second here in 2015 and I wanted to make up for it. Today I tried to drive clean without making mistakes, I wanted to stay calm. Here on these natural trails it is easy to puncture or break something. In the end I have to say that my strategy paid off and I am happy to be on the top step of the podium in the midst of so many champions and potential winners.".
Second in the overall standings Vittorio Gambirasio (Team Officine Red Bike) closes at 13.50sec from Nicola, while third is the very fast French rider Nicolas Lau (Cube Action Team) at 27.73sec from the head, who snatches the position a Marco Milivinti (GB Rifar Racing Team) fourth.

In women Tracy Moseley returns to La Thuile and does so by climbing on the top step of the podium in a location that she defines as one of her favorites.
Tracy Moseley "I didn't remember it being so steep, that the trails were so technical and dusty. The race was really tough. Although this year I am dedicating myself to something else and no longer solely to competitions, racing here has always been a great emotion. Superenduro is always a good event and I am happy to find such a solid national reality".

Second closes an amazing Laura Rossin (GB Rifar Racing Team) at 1.29 min from Tracy followed by the third classified, the Swiss Carolin Gehrig (Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team), who closes with a gap of 2.12min from the head after more than 40min overall of tests timed specials.

In the EBike category the Swiss Gustav Wildhaber (Cube Action Team) scores a double after the victory of Canazei with an overall time of 29.28min and a good margin on the direct rivals Paolo Belluomini and Isaac Sonzogni. A special applause to all the ebike riders who right here in La Thuile have had a hard time managing the greater weight of their bikes on such steep sections and technical rocky sections where agility means a lot.

Marco Betteo wins respectively in the categories SE-G and SE1 students with an overall time of 23.26min and Simone Pellissero with a time of 21.02min.

Today's results completely reopen the games with a view to the Superenduro Championship overall standings and will make the next two stages even more exciting. Matteo Raimondi not at ease on the paths of La Thuile and struggling with a weekend definitely to be forgotten, he loses the first position in the championship to the detriment of Vittorio Gambirasio current leader, Nicola Casadei second and Marco Milivinti who passes to third provisional position. Now there are 4 riders in only 160 points, crazy.

"This Superenduro race, with an international parterre of the highest level as it was today, is the event we expected"Declares Enrico Martello at the end of the event and continues"but the most gratifying thing is the feedback on the trails and the organizational quality of the events here in La Thuile, we have one of the best staff in the world and I am convinced that we will continue to do great things in the future".

The Superenduro gives an appointment to all fans at the next stage on 10 September, which as announced during the riders briefing here in La Thuile will no longer be Varano de Melegari but Calestano always in the province of Parma.
