The summer of Monte Cimone officially began with the opening of the ski lifts serving Montecreto and Sestola. Starting tomorrow, Thursday 2 June, the Sestola central chairlift serving Pian del Falco, the cable car that reaches Pian Cavallaro and the shuttle connecting Pian del Falco - Passo del Lupo will be active. Montecreto's “Stellaro” chairlift will be open every weekend from June 4th to September, every day from mid-July to the end of August. The return to the Sestola plant from Montecreto, like Fanano, is on call and included in the ticket.
The novelty of 2016 is the return of the single ticket for the entire Monte Cimone area, which can be purchased at the Montecreto and Sestola ticket offices, starting from € 12 for half a day. The facilities perform a dual function: from the traditional ascent for high altitude walks and trekking, to mountain biking, both for downhill and for all-mountain rides. Fanano is instead equipped for e-bikes, with dedicated routes and a paid shuttle service for freeride.
Mayor Leandro Bonucchi comments: “This year we open early to give continuity to the summer activities, officially inaugurated with the Giro d'Italia. The bicycle is the symbol of summer at the Cimone and we want to celebrate it at its best with a 360-degree service: in addition to the single ticket for the whole area, the aspects related to the maintenance of the paths, the signs and the shelters have been taken care of ".
The trails dedicated to mountain biking have been regularly cleaned and marked according to the degree of difficulty: in Montecreto there are six, from the historic "Pino Solitario" (all-mountain) to the brand new "Gufo" (gravity). Sestola has also opened the bike park with 9 active routes for the downhill, for all levels of riding. All paths are mapped to the page www.cimonebikepark.com/website/wp-content/themes/cimonebikepark/style/images/cartina_2013.pdf
The refuges open from June will be in Cervarola (Montecreto), Capanno Tassoni (Fanano), Lago della Ninfa (Sestola).
