A weekend dedicated to cycling from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 September which culminates with the SN CUP competition and four different cycling and sports routes and above all with a great party for La SpoletoNorcia in MTB now in its XNUMXth edition, supported again this year by Pietro Coricelli, an oil company ambassador of Made in Italy green gold in the world. An event that attracts thousands of bike, cycle tourism and nature enthusiasts every year and which takes place on a very varied route that starts from the route of the Old Spoleto Norcia Railway through the villages and hermitages of the Valnerina, suspended between rugged mountains, luxuriant woods, high stone viaducts and exciting spiral tunnels in the dark.
THE GREAT CELEBRATION FOR THE 10 YEARS OF LA SPOLETONORCIA BY MTB
For the 10th anniversary of the first edition of the event, a new logo has been created – two parallel lines that trace the initials S and N and evoke the rails of the Old Railway, an “abstract track” that makes an imaginary journey between enchantment and colors of the territory - and a super-colored technical shirt was created, supplied by Gobik, which has already become a collector's item (reserved exclusively for the first 1500 members).
The actual cycling event takes place on Sunday 3rd September, while on 1st and 2nd September the SpoletoNorcia Village comes alive with moments of meeting, entertainment, music and good food.
The talk shows will deal with issues such as inclusiveness and road safety, sustainability and the promotion of the territory (with the participation of the Italian Cycling Federation, the Michele Scarponi Foundation, the International Cycling Union, Coldiretti and the event's partners). As always, cycle games with pump tracks and gymkhanas for the little ones, who can also try their hand at a race dedicated to them through the streets of the city. Also in the square are the workshops to learn how to take care of your bicycle, including emergency mechanics, maintenance and athletic preparation for the well-being of cyclists of all levels. But the big party for the 10th anniversary of La SpoletoNorcia will above all be a celebration of the excellence of the area, with aperibikes and tastings for all the public and Peppone Calabrese together with Monia Amadori to enhance Umbrian products and flavors with a show cooking entitled " Good is healthy".

ONE COMPETITIVE RACE AND FOUR CYCLING AND SPORTS ROUTES
As always, SpoletoNorcia is declined in a competitive competition, the SN CUP - to be done on a mountain bike - and cycling routes open to all and different in terms of difficulty, which can also be covered by pedaling a fat bike, a mountain tandem or an e-MTB, type which enjoys growing popularity among slightly less trained two-wheel enthusiasts.
Registration is open and the participation fee varies according to the progressive number of members: the deadline for having the race pack with technical jersey and personalized bib is July 31st but you can register until the eve of the race. For groups, one free participation fee for every 10 members.
Among the demanding routes is the SN CUP competitive race (included in the calendar of regional events by the Italian Cycling Federation) on a circular circuit of 55 km with a difference in height of 1.600 meters and an alternation of descents and slopes "not for everyone". The non-competitive Classic+, on the other hand, allows you to cross a personal finish line by trying your hand at the same route as the SN CUP. Definitely reserved for those who are well trained, the Hard circuit of 85 km and 2.200 meters in altitude, which allows you to pedal on the entire route of the Old Railway that is now accessible. It ends with the Easy Route, 40 km long and with just under 1000 meters in altitude, which winds along the most spectacular stretch of the Old Railway between Spoleto, Sant'Anatolia di Narco and Scheggino, home of the truffle, and finally the Family route , suitable for everyone, of only 10 km and 300 meters in altitude, the proceeds of which will be entirely donated to charity to the "Il smile di Teo" association, as every year.
The awards ceremony on the afternoon of Sunday 3 September, preceded by a “Pasta Party with music and beer.

SPOLETO NORCIA – FROM RAILWAY TO CYCLE PATH
Due to its plano-altimetric characteristics, the Spoleto-Norcia railway, inaugurated in 1926, was considered an Alpine railway and was called the Gotthard of Umbria. The 51-kilometre route included 19 tunnels (one of almost 2 kilometers at the point of maximum altitude, 24 bridges and viaducts of futuristic engineering and great architectural value, with various sections of helical line and gradients of up to 45 per thousand. Closed in 1968 , in July 2014 it was reopened as a cycle path, characterized by narrow gorges and high mountain landscapes with slight slopes, up to the highest point where the Caprareccia tunnel is located.In 2015, the Spoleto Norcia cycle path won the first edition of the Italian Cycle Tourism Oscar, the recognition that rewards the "green ways" of the Italian regions that offer services for slow tourism.
