Jaroslav Kulhavy and Annika Langvad win the marathon world championships both riding a Specialized S-Works Epic but in this event there was a great record: Kulhavy is the 1st athlete in history to have won the XCO World Championship, the Olympic gold. and the World Marathon!
The route was exhausting and measured 95 km with a continuous ups and downs in XC style, including rocky gardens. Kulhavy won by inflicting 3 ′ to Alban Lakata. First of the Italians was Tony Longo in 14th position. Among women, the Danish Annika Langvad literally dominated by inflicting over 5 'on the German Sabine Spitz and almost 9' on the Czech Tereza Hurikova.
