Born for action, resistant to water splashes and frost, it guarantees practicality and ease of use.
Among the first to try it, 5 extreme sports athletes who, with the FDR-X1000VR, have regained extraordinary performances, in equally wonderful contexts and landscapes. Alberto Mizzotti (Triathlon), Mauro Calibani (Climbing), Antonio Longo (Kitesurfing and Snowkite), Massimiliano Maida (Group Parachuting) and Mirko Tulli (Canyoning) have different ages, professions and stories, but they share a passion for sport, exploration and nature, always in search of the perfect balance that is created between man and the environment in extreme conditions. Their stories, which accompany the images shot in 4K (resolution 4 times higher than Full HD), allow us to discover the emotions of acrobatics and evolutions between earth, sky and water, conquering an unprecedented perspective from which to admire breathtaking landscapes, enhanced by the high amount of information, the bright and intense colors and extreme image fluidity of Action Cam.
Experiencing the video camera firsthand, the 5 athletes discovered its most interesting and exciting aspects.
“I think Sony's Action Cam is very intuitive to use. I was afraid it would be a bit more annoying when mounted on the helmet, but I got used to it immediately and, after a while, I almost forgot I had it. There is the possibility of tilting the camera on the elastic band that is used to mount it, which is not possible in sled mountings ”, explained Alberto Mizzotti.
Mauro Calibani and Mirko Tulli, on the other hand, underlined the more functional aspects of the camera: “It is a very versatile and functional video camera, which can be fixed in particular positions to create new shots. We appreciated the battery life, which guarantees autonomy, avoiding being abandoned in the best moments, and the software, which also holds up well to overheating due to recording in maximum quality, without bugs and blockages of the machine ”.
For his part, Antonio Longo focused on the intrinsic characteristics of the product: “The video quality is excellent and the remote control is the added value of this camera. You can enter the GPS track, which is very useful in winter. I was happy with the accessories and in particular I appreciated the use of the standard thread that can be used for self-made supports ”.
Lastly, Massimiliano Maida, in addition to the remote control with LCD display, appreciated the image quality: “The wrist remote control is extremely useful because it allows you to configure shooting, even in the most extreme situations on an airplane or during a fall. And then the preview is on the remote control, an unprecedented convenience. Sony's Action Cam is a perfect companion for skydiving, with excellent quality footage ”.
FDR-X1000VR: IMAGE IS EVERYTHING. What does it take to shoot a spectacular movie with Action Cam? The desire for adventure and the desire to challenge even the most hostile environments to test themselves and push themselves beyond their limits cannot be missing. The absolute novelty is the ability to record at high bit-rate, i.e. 100/60 Mbps with 4K 30p resolution in XAVC S format (the consumer version of the professional XAVC 4K / HD format), to capture, with breathtaking resolution, even dynamic scenes. complex, such as the movements between sprays of water.
As with any film worthy of the name, the landscape does not remain in the background: thanks to the huge field of view, equal to 170 °, the ZEISS Tessar® super wide-angle lens offers splendid panoramic perspectives around the center of the action. Not only that, the integrated stereo microphone, equipped with the new Wind Noise Reduction system, also guarantees high quality audio.
But what if something unexpected happens? With the Loop Recording function, it is possible to capture unexpected moments by continuously recording in the memory card buffer: simply press the record button and the camera will have already captured the initial moments of the scene.
PRACTICALLY IN REAL TIME. To immediately share your adventure, the new integrated Highlight Movie Maker function selects and assembles the best scenes, so that, in a few seconds, the edited videos (MP4) can be uploaded via smartphone to social networks, such as Facebook or YouTube. If you also want to share the route, with the free Action Cam Movie Creator application you can insert GPS data overlay. Finally, those who want to excite with music can add their favorite soundtrack to the edited video.
