Marzocchi: the bike is in crisis but the bike resists great

The Marzocchi logo, a well-known MTB fork brand, a symbol of quality and innovation in cycling.

Yesterday we published a news about the bad situation in which Marzocchi finds himself in the motorcycle sector (link -> Bad news from Marzocchi that goes out of business). As it is logical to think, on the internet the shares have started in flurry without paying much attention to the text of the article.

Marzocchi, founded in 1949, deals with the design and production of suspensions for motorcycles and mountain bikes. It boasts among its customers the motorcycle manufacturers and the best manufacturers of mountain bike frames. From 1 September 2008 the suspension division of the Marzocchi group became part of the Tenneco Inc. group, an American company with high financial power, which therefore led to the creation of the current Tenneco Marzocchi srl

A few weeks ago, FIOM launched the news, which is going virally on the WEB, regarding the situation that the American multinational wants to close the Italian factory and quit the production of forks. The news surprised many industry insiders as Marzocchi (in the bike sector) is presenting many innovations, such as the new forks with Espresso treatment or the dropper post (presented at the Sea Otter Classic).

Bikes and motorcycles, as far as they are part of the same company, are 2 separate sectors. If Marzocchi's motorcycle sector is in crisis, the bike world seems to have a host of enthusiasts who appreciate the quality of their products.

And the tests of the new products continue thanks to the many sponsored athletes, just think that in the first 2 places of the first round of the Italian Cup we find Nicola Casadei and Alex Lupato (photo on the left).

Marzocchi executives assure that until 2018 there will be no changes or cessation of the activity but, given the success of the current bike products, a closure is unthinkable.
So long live Marzocchi! Hoping that the motorcycle sector will also recover.
