SRAM engine prototype sighted at EWS-E

A Nukeproof Megawatt eMTB with a SRAM engine prototype was spotted in the race.

SRAM appears to be getting closer, as Shimano did back in 2016, with its own electric motor. According to rumors, SRAM also has a patent for what appears to be an electronic transmission powered by a central battery, similar to what you'd find on an e-bike.
