After seen the women's race, we noticed how the route is not at all technical but still fascinating for a short track. The men's race has in fact experienced many attacks but none that really managed to make a difference. It looked like a road race.

In the early stages, the German Luca Schwarzbauer was very brilliant and seemed to be in control of the situation very well. And then the path seems designed for him. But in a race like this, many can have their say: Luca Braidot, Filippo Colombo, Sebastian Fini, Alan Hatherly, the same Ulloa who immediately forced himself on lap 1 were very brilliant. Nino Schurter detaches from the 1st group: it is not clear whether due to mechanical problems or a bad day.

In the 1st large group, made up of about twenty people, we also find Juri Zanotti and Nadir Colledani. More in difficulty Gerhard Kerschbaumer, always a few meters to chase. Meanwhile, Luca Schwarzbauer races in the lead without worrying about team games: he places himself in first position and does not give up.

With 2 laps to go, Filippo Colombo takes the lead, but in such a course it is not easy to make a difference but his attack hurts. Immediately behind Sebastian Fini and the surprising Mexican Ulloa. The group is a long single line

Last lap with 10 athletes in front in a long single line and it is Ulloa to force the pace on the last climb but Filippo Colombo counterattacks. Luca Braidot remains in the top positions but does not seem to have the leg to excel. Colombo gains a few meters in the final descent, while Ulloa and Fini yield a few meters. Jens Schuermans is also in the top positions. But the arrival is near and Filippo Colombo is going to win a fantastic race after the Unlucky Snowshoe Race ahead of the Mexican Gerardo Ulloa (his fantastic race) and Sebastian Fini.

Among the Italians, Luca Braidot is 10th while Nadir Colledani 13th. Further behind Juri Zanotti and Gerhard Kerschbaumer: 20th and 23rd respectively.

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
