The Red Bull Hardline is not a race for the faint of heart. Considered one of the toughest downhill mountain bike races in the world, the course was designed by DH trail pioneer Dan Atherton with support from his brother Gee, and tests both the skill and nerves of athletes.
But what is making people talk is the colossal structure put in place for an abnormally large river gap: 22 meters where making mistakes is not advisable.
The Atherton family is famous for pushing the limits ever higher but, if I were Red Bull, I would start keeping an eye on them because they are bordering on the limit between extreme and madness.
Jim Monro'S JUMP
Jim Monro is kicked dangerously from the ramp: luckily he stays in the path and doesn't end up going down. He gets by with a concussion from which he will recover, it seems, shortly.
And for the first time ever, Red Bull Hardline also took place in Australia, at Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania, 23-24 February 2024.
