The mountain bike season with the specialty was officially opened on Sunday 19 April Downhill, on the occasion of the first stage of the DH North East Circuit coordinated by the ASD Gravity Project of Vicenza, in Schio with the "1st Trophy Downhill City of Schio” organized by ASD Alto Vicentinto MTB and CHUNK asd.
The treacherous race track, 2,3 km long with 280 meters of altitude difference, created exclusively for the occasion, gave a hard time to the 70 athletes starting with an initial session in virgin undergrowth and roots alternating with fast stretches of karst stony ground who, with the intense rain on Saturday, saw some falls; from the middle the path becomes more flow giving a show with jumps and bends in support.
The lucky day on Sunday saw a strong spring sun that gave some dry stretches of the race. The best time of 3 ′ and 22 ″ was set by Mauro Gavasso of the Martes team.
At the end of the day, the organizers declared themselves particularly satisfied with the success of the event with the applause of all the participants.
