The new Superenduro season is about to kick off and it is not just any vintage but the tenth.
Since 2009, the most famous enduro mountain bike circuit in Italy has written important pages for this discipline and is preparing to place another series of memorable races starting from the first on the calendar, Sanremo.
The town on the western Ligurian Riviera, also very famous for the Casino and the Festival, hosts some of the toughest downhill trails on the planet that Rachel Atherton herself recently defined as "the gnarliest track ever" and which continue to churn out talents such as some of our best representatives in the Cup Downhill.
But Sanremo is not just DH, the enduro tours and trails are spectacular and thanks to the work of Sanremo Bike Resort this enormous potential is emerging all over the world and it is no coincidence that it was chosen as the Enduro World Series Qualifier Event.
The municipality of Sanremo itself is at the forefront with support for the race and the development of the bike product. Just think of the recent establishment of the Sanremo - San Romolo public bus line, active on weekends and dedicated to bikers and which will probably already be active from Thursday on the occasion of the Superenduro.
The Sanremo Superenduro will undoubtedly be a race with a high technical content for both mtb and e-mtb, with long and physical specials, where tightening the handlebars and the teeth will be the key to bringing home an epic race.
It will also be necessary to drive with your eyes wide open, stay light and always move with agility to find the best trajectory and avoid too many heavy impacts with the rocks. The flow is here, but you have to know how to find it. On the other hand, the first Superenduro of the season is held almost at the end of April, so the winter rust is pretty good that gone and you have no excuses, the Superenduro immediately asks you for the best.
Here we are at the home of Manuel Ducci and Valentina Macheda, two great interpreters of Italian enduro as well as two guys who want to show everyone what a rider can expect from the trails that they pull up like little gems.
“For the Superenduro race we are washing the trails practically daily with different teams. The winter was rainy and the influx of bikers was really important so there is a lot to do especially along the new and unpublished sections. We want the race to be a bomb and today we have several opportunities for the definitive race track that we are still evaluating ”says Manuel Ducci.
The city of Sanremo and the splendor of the Ligurian Sea are the background of the 5 specials scheduled.
The Event Village and the Paddock will be in Sanremo at the Villaggio dei Fiori, a structure located along the Area 24 cycle path that offers all the comforts for the race as well as excellent prices for those who want to stay a stone's throw from the start and finish area. The Village is an ideal place to meet with friends and family, a small house next to a small house, perhaps to share a barbecue and tell each other about the adventures of the day or of the winter just passed.
To keep us company all our partners Vittoria, Giant, Liv, Endura, FiveTen, Evoc, OTC, the numerous technical assistants that we remember being available both to the participants and to those who intend to receive advice and information on the products and the girls of WOW who in Sanremo they will be present for the first of three seasonal events.
The fight for the title of Superenduro Champion of the tenth year is about to start, Laura Rossin and Vittorio Gambirasio will be on the front line to defend the title from a fierce competition from which we are sure, as always happens at Superenduro, new protagonists and unexpected outsiders will emerge. .
