Sam Hill updated his fans via Instagram about his physical condition after the fall at Crankworx in Cairns about ten days ago.
I thought I'd write a little update from my Cairns accident to Crankworx. Since I returned to Perth and met my surgeon, the injury is not as bad as initially expected. I was operated on today and everything was fine ๐๐ผ My back fractures are stable, my shoulder needed cleaning inside the joint after my dislocation as I had some bruising / tendon repairs.

I can't thank my surgeon Benny and his team enough for operating me so quickly and for their care ๐ค๐ผ As for my recovery, I'm not sure how long it will take, but I'm glad I have some time to heal. I had some events scheduled to run in Australia this end of the season but I want to fully recover: these accidents happen. It's frustrating because I was finally getting my rhythm back after a couple of years of shit. I have a goal, a plan that I want to achieve on my own and I know I will get there. Big things coming up for next year so I hope the recovery goes smoothly and can get back on track in 2023 ๐ I want to say a big thank you to everyone for last week's messages and support, I really appreciate that ๐ค๐ผ It's good to see how many of you were so eager to see me drive DH again ๐ Also a huge thank you to my wife for stopping everything on her vacation with the kids to help fix me once again ๐ and take us home. I love you
