Work has also and above all been worked on in the upper part in order to make the descent ever easier from the exit of the cable car, thus creating the conditions to make the slopes more usable by everyone or in other words to make them more "flow" than translated from English it literally means "sliding". And there are not the enthusiasts but also all the athletes who are preparing for round 4 of the Toscano Enduro Series which will take place on July 23rd, a few weeks after the opening which took place on July 2nd/3rd. the great work of the Abetone Gravity Team in collaboration with the organizational team of the Toscano Enduro Series and with the support of the Italian Cycling Federation has managed to fulfill all the necessary formalities to organize this important race which is producing great anticipation, which will see everyone at the start the strongest Italian athletes of this spectacular specialty who will fight to be able to wear the jerseys of champions of the most important regional circuit in Italy both in the professional and amateur categories.
Great fight therefore to be able to win the overall title between Tommaso Francardo who is currently at the top of the classification and his pursuers Nicola Grotti and Nicola Bima, but also for all the various classifications of the single categories which are very open, and therefore super fought. Among the 8 slopes that descend from the top of Monte Gomito to the base of the cable car, but also directly in the towns of Abetone and Regine, the 4 special stages will be chosen and will be revealed only on Friday. And therefore the choice can be between the classic Tre, Listen and Superbob, but also the TRITRI with a new stretch that extends it up to the parking lot at the base of the cable car, or the new 6 which, as mentioned before, goes all the way down to the Pulicchio and the return of the classic Chierroni which instead arrives at the village of the Queens on the Tuscan side of the pass. The rental was also renewed with the important agreement with the American brand Cannondale which supplied the brand new Jekylls set up specifically for use in the Bike Park. Thanks to these highly performing vehicles, it will be possible for everyone to have fun with this highly adrenalinic sport. And precisely with a view to broadening the panorama of possible mountain bike users in the Tuscan capital of the mountains, Abetone has also developed the possibility of using the ultra-modern Moterra and Habit e-bikes, pedal assisted electric bikes, which make it possible to enormously expand the possibility of using the large network of paths that develop from the Abetone pass, or from the valley station of the Ovovia, where, in addition to Downhill you can also rent e-bikes.
To give everyone the opportunity to find their way around the dense network of trails, the "Abetone Trail Park" app has been renewed and translated into English, available free of charge both on Apple platforms and on the Android Play Store, and which allows you to view maps and characteristics of over 20 trails, allowing anyone with a smartphone to use it as a real GPS by following the chosen trail on the map. It is therefore precisely the paths which, like the ski slopes in winter, constitute the real engine of the summer season, offering all enthusiasts a multiple series of opportunities for walking, for recreation but also and above all for training and wellness. The routes are divided into 4 categories: mountain biking, trekking, trail running and multi-day trekking, and among the latter, the path of San Bartolomeo stands out, developed and mapped by the local Vallelune association, which connects Fiumalbo to Pistoia, retracing an ancient path, path precisely from the Saint from whom it takes its name in medieval times, crossing villages, ridges and forests and creating a series of opportunities as well as tourism, also landscape and food and wine, since, depending on the time of year in which you travel, in addition being able to stop in the numerous restaurants and hotels in the area, also allows you to directly collect the products offered by the uncontaminated nature of these mountains, from blueberries in the ridge area, to mushrooms and chestnuts, in the wooded areas.
For those who instead want to act only as a spectator, there will be the possibility of going up to the top with the cable car, and once at the top, as well as having refreshment with the dishes offered in the "Zeno Colò" refuge, you will be able to appreciate a marvelous panorama, with the a view that ranges 360 degrees and makes the Alps, the Tyrrhenian Sea visible to the naked eye, and to the south the city of Florence with Giotto's bell tower and Brunelleschi's dome. Not to mention the entire Apennine chain from Cimone to the Apuan Alps. And after sunset it will be possible to admire the shooting stars in a condition of absolute darkness not affected by any light pollution.
As you can see, in addition to the "natural" air conditioning which means that there are more than 10 degrees of difference between the heat of the cities and the Abetone pass, there are many other reasons for heading towards Abetone and the Pistoia mountains to beat the heat of this torrid summer.
