ROTOR Bike Components, from today, introduces a new category of power meters, introducing INpower, the power meter with the innovative "axle-based" technology integrated in the crank axle. By inserting the technology inside the bottom bracket, INpower is protected from impacts, accidents and contaminants from the outside, while maintaining the original aesthetics of the bicycle.

In the future, all high-end cranksets will be equipped with an internal power meter.

Thanks to its positioning inside the axle, INpower is able to convert any ROTOR crankset with a 30mm spindle into an "axle-based" power meter, which offers mountain bike enthusiasts and triathletes the same advantages as historically enjoyed by road cyclists. INpower, thanks to the TORQUE 360 and Optimum Chainring Angle (OCA) functions, analyzes pedaling and helps cyclists to evaluate force variations with precision. The TORQUE 360 and OCA values thus allow the user to orient the QRings in order to take full advantage.
“We wanted to create power meter technology that surpasses current trends and can be transferred to other disciplines as well,” said Pablo Carrasco, ROTOR's head of research and development and inventor of INpower. "At the same time we wanted to take advantage of the QRings advantages and build a sophisticated and fairly easy-to-use power meter compared to other products available on the market."

INnovative and Intelligent Features

INpower uses a standard AA battery and is equipped with the UBB30 system, a 30mm diameter axle that is compatible with almost all frame standards on the market. Since the data detected by INpower are those of the left leg, cyclists who already own a ROTOR crankset have the possibility to purchase only the left arm and install it themselves with the help of a downloadable multilingual user manual.
Since it is centrally positioned in the bottom bracket, INpower transmits more precise and accurate data, thanks also to the ANT + ™ protocol without suffering interruptions and temperature variations.
Sophisticated measurements such as Torque Effectiveness and Pedal Smoothness determine total torque versus positive torque and average power versus maximum power, respectively.

Developed and tested during competitions, it is available for all cyclists
ROTOR's ambitions for a product like INpower include collaboration agreements with elite level teams and riders such as the MTN-Qhubeka p / b Samsung team, MMR and Rocks & Co. MTB, and a various elite level athletes who have tested INpower providing important feedback from the start of the season.

Rotor has created a dedicated microsite for INpower, an authoritative "white paper" entitled "Technology in Training: Pursuing the Search for Physiological Advantages" and a debut video, which can be viewed both on inpower.rotorbike.com or on the YouTube channel of Rotor.
