Ever since SID revolutionized the World Cup in the XNUMXs, it has been the absolute queen among the racing forks cross country. Racing has never been easy, but today's tracks and bikes require technology that goes far beyond weight savings. The same attitude that pushes you to the utmost care in training, diet and preparation is the one that has always pushed us to look for ways to make the SID faster and faster. The new SID forks all have new hydraulic systems and a new air spring, with improvements on the structure for performance and durability.
“3” IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
Il cross country it's a matter of efficiency. Efficiency is based on control. More possibilities allow for more control. The new SID and SID SL forks now use a three-position hydraulic system that allows you to switch on the fly between the Open, Pedal and Lock positions.
Extensive testing and development with collaboration from everyone from local champions to the legend of legends, ie Nino Schurter, confirmed that the Pedal position of the 3P hydraulics was a huge advantage in the cross country in general and in the competitive one in particular.
It's easy to imagine what the Lock position would be used for: full speed starts and sprints, or a long climb on a compact surface. The Open position is made for the descents of today's demanding XC courses. And for everything in between? The Pedal position combines fuel-efficient efficiency with comfort, traction and control for tackling treacherous climbs or fast, flowing trails.

No, don't call it a "downcountry" fork... Or yes? The SID works like an enduro fork but without sacrificing the efficiency and lightness that champions of the caliber of Nino Schurter. The new three-position hydraulics have the Lock position for unleashing the watts, the Open position for flattening rocks and the Pedal position for fantastic traction on technical climbs. SID's new air spring features increased volume and increased negative chamber to absorb all bumps, no matter how loud the spectator cowbells ringing trackside…
AN AIR SPRING THAT FLYS
The SID has already proven itself as a hard-playing XC fork, and with its new DebonAir+ air spring it's now more adjustable than ever. Whether you prefer a firm or softer response, adjusting the pressure creates a noticeable difference in midstroke support. However you adjust it, it never loses sensitivity at the start of the stroke, just as you never experience the sensation of too little travel. More traction, more control and more comfort make the SID unbeatable on any track or trail.
BOOST THE VOLUME
The SID DebonAir+ air spring features an increased volume of both the negative air chamber, 50 percent larger, and the positive air chamber, 16 percent larger. This leads to an improvement in the compression curve in order to find the perfect response depending on the riding style and terrain. More comfort? Take 10 psi off. More support? Add 10 psi. Whether you prefer more mid-stroke support for the race courses or the feeling of an infinite travel for when you want to have fun, the SID is ready for action.
The SID is now noticeably softer in the first part of the stroke. It's partly due to the larger negative chamber volume, and partly to the new top striker spring – a coil spring instead of a rubber buffer (and therefore less hysteresis… look up the meaning). The top spring helps maintain both comfort and traction in the initial part of the stroke, right where the rider needs it most.
THE SID IS EVEN STRONGER
Don't be jealous: SID's stems are stronger than your legs. Its new structure takes advantage of the longer stems for greater overlap with the bushings. This means that both the upper and lower bushings are in contact at all times, to reduce lateral loads during impacts, resulting in lower friction and longer life. New, longer legs allow for increased positive and negative air volumes in the air spring for unlimited adjustability.
SID ULTIMATE 3P
Climb the mountains. He burns the slopes. The SID Ultimate is not like other XC forks. Lightest ever, with a formidable structure with 35mm stanchions that hold the trajectory when you've reached the limit. The new Race Day 2 hydraulics take advantage of three-position (3P) compression adjustment: a very firm Lock position, a soft Open position and an efficient Pedal position, all within easy reach.

The latest SIDLuxe uses a three-position (3P) hydraulic system, alongside the current two-position (2P) version. Both models feature the very stiff Lock position that competitors need for starts and sprints, as well as the shock-absorbing Open position for descents. The new 3P version also takes advantage of the efficient Pedal position to better manage technical climbs and trails. The high-speed compression has also been improved, for immediate opening when tackling the most demanding downhill section of the track. Yes, exactly the one where all the spectators are placed.

So far you've compromised on pedaling efficiency, traction and comfort. The SIDLuxe hates compromises. Its new three-position hydraulic system (3P) allows you to adjust your suspension for any type of terrain, during normal rides or in the race, in perfect agreement with the SID and SID SL forks.
The SIDLuxe always takes advantage of the very rigid Lock position, used in the starting phases and in the World Cup sprints. It also has the Open position fully active, to tame any track, from that of Mont-Sainte-Anne to that of Houffalize. We've increased the oil flow to allow the compression damper to open faster when you run into unexpected turbulence… The immediate responsiveness of the compression is active in both the Open and Pedal positions. You can concentrate on chasing the competitor in front of you without worrying about shock settings.
As oil flow increases there is a need for increased bottom out resistance. We've adopted a taller, more tapered bottom out pad to increase absorption when you push through the stroke, for an endless ride feel that gives you more control at critical moments.
