Reply on the April editorial

in recent days some newsagents have made their voices heard on our social facebook and on our email. We took one but in the next issue we will try to explain well our reasons not to be misunderstood, also trying to take advantage of our social Facebook. Thank you.

DEAR DIRECTOR, MR. MARZIO BARDI.
WHO IS WRITING THEM IS A TUSCAN EDICULATOR, GABRIELE B. I WAS THOUGHT, NOT TO SAY INDIGNANT, BY THE EDITORIAL PUBLISHED IN N ° 27 OF THE MAGAZINE "365 MOUNTAIN BIKE MAGAZINE" DIRECT FROM YOU, WITH THE TITLE "DEAR READER I LOVE YOU" .
AS IS CLEAR FROM WHAT IT IS WRITTEN, YOU AND THE ENTIRE EDITORIAL ARE EXPRESSLY INVITED YOUR READERS TO SUBSCRIBE DIRECTLY TO YOUR MAGAZINE ADDING FOR THIS REASON ETHICALLY IMPORTANT AND SOCIALLY VERY "FEELING", WHICH APPEARS EXTRAPLE: "… ALSO PRODUCING DOUBLE PAPER REQUIRED CAUSES POLLUTION: BASICALLY TREES FOR PAPER AND GASOLINE FOR TRANSPORT".
YOU ALSO SHOW THE FACT THAT PRODUCING A MAGAZINE, YOURS, ENCOURAGES AN INDUSTRIAL COST REPRESENTED BY MORE THAN 50% OF "PAPER, PRINT, DISTRIBUTION AND DISPOSAL OF RETURNS".
SO THE LOGIC CONSEQUENCE FOR YOU IS THAT THE READER SUBSCRIBES, OR BETTER, THE “TOP” WOULD BE THAT ALL SUBSCRIBE, MAYBE TO THE “DIGITAL” EDITION; SO THAT READERS WOULD SAVE 30% ON THE FINAL COST OF THE MAGAZINE, YOU WOULD SAVE ON THE COSTS OF DISTRIBUTION AND DISPOSAL OF RETURNS. THE FABRIC, THAT YOU THROUGH YOUR EDITORIAL, YOU TOLD THE READERS SHOULD CONCLUDE “… AND ALL LIVED HAPPY AND CONTENT”. BUT IT IS NOT THIS: IN YOUR BEAUTIFUL TABLET, THERE IS A "FAVORITE OF STONE", THE CLASSIC "BAD WOLF" WHICH IN ALL THE TABLETS THAT RESPECT ITSELF, THERE IS ALWAYS DIRECT OR INDIRECTLY: THE CATEGORY OF THE EDICULANTS, OF WHICH, AS SAID, I AM PART.
ACCORDING TO YOUR REASONING, WE EDICULANTS ARE THOSE WHO SHOULD BE OUTSIDE THE CIRCUIT OF PROFIT (EVEN IF FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT THAT IS PAID TO US, IT WOULD BE MORE RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT ALEMOSINE). WE WHO GET UP AT 5.00 IN THE MORNING AND WHO WERE YOUR PRIVILEGED CHANNEL UP A LITTLE TIME AGO, OR MAYBE WE MADE YOU SIMPLY COMFORTABLE? FOR THE SALE OF YOUR MAGAZINE. NOW WE ARE "DOWNLOADED" AS "REJECTED" FROM WHAT, UNTIL PROOF TO THE OTHERWISE, SHOULD STILL BE "OUR WORLD". WE ARE EDICULANTS, WHO AT THE MOMENT YOUR MAGAZINE ENTERS OUR LOCALS, WE ADVANCE YOUR MONEY ON THE MOMENT, INDEPENDENTLY HOW THE SALES OF YOUR PRODUCT GO, WE ARE NOW CONSIDERED ALMOST AS "FOREIGN BODIES" FROM "EXTERNAL CIRCUITS" ".
THEREFORE, MR. DIRECTOR, ACCORDING TO MY OPINION BUT THAT, I ASSURE YOU, IT APPEARS TO BE THE OPINION OF MANY COLLEAGUES, IF THAT EDITORIAL, INDIRECTLY, IS YOUR "THANKS" FOR THE WORK THAT HEREFORE OUR CATEGORY HAS YOU LOANED, WHY DO WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO ANTICIPATE YOUR MONEY, EVERY TIME YOU "ENTER" IN OUR EXERCISES? OUR "FAVOLETTA", THAT OF THE NEWSOLDERS, COULD BEGIN LIKE THIS: "ONCE UPON A TIME 365 MOUNTAIN BIKE MAGAZINE" ... ..

BEST REGARDS
BAGGIANI GABRIEL
Dear Mr. Gabriel,
I realize that the exhortation to subscribe instead of going to newsstands sounds like a betrayal of those who for years have represented the only and irreplaceable channel of connection between publishers and readers. Before expounding a thought full of bitterness about the current situation, I must point out that when you say you are advancing the money, in truth, this is not the case because at the end of the month the unsold copies are returned and what you call an advance is practically completely recovered. Dear Gabriele, we would like to understand why for twenty years we have delivered two trucks of magazines to the distributor while the sales figure is barely 25% of the delivered. We are also printers and we are among those who never wanted the web to take over. But progress advances and those who do not adapt are forced to throw in the towel. I started in 1989 and I have seen a lot of paper go by. I tried them all to try to avoid this incredible waste of paper, you think, that I also tried to create the subscription on newsstands. A kind of card that the reader buys and then goes to the newsstand to pick up his copy ... but ... unfortunately the newsagents' union opposed it because it considered it an injustice towards newsagents not included in the program. In practice, the imposition is to deliver 100 copies, to always sell only 25. The thought full of bitterness is that an increasing number of readers say they cannot find the magazine on newsstands even where it should be, this is because some of its colleagues, unfortunately, do not even withdraw the magazine and this increases the speco because those copies go directly from the typography to the pulp.
If you have a suggestion, an idea, a project to submit to us, submit it to us and we will be the happiest publishers in the world.
My exhortation therefore arises from the need to concentrate investments and to avoid, where possible, unfair waste.
The alternative if you do not get out of this situation is to close and at that point it will not be just newsagents who lose out.
Thank you for your letter because at least now we know that there is a newsagent friend reading our newspaper. Or maybe he was reading.
In the meantime, we hold on.
Happy reading.

[email protected] I am a fan of everything that has 2 wheels: at a young age I practiced road and track cycling (Italian Allievi champion). At the age of 18 I passed into the cross country competing at national/international level as an Under23. Past Elite, I made the choice to take things more lightly from a training point of view, and my love for gravity disciplines was born, training me as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made passion my profession by managing 2 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Bike Center Elba and Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
