Six years after the last cross-border edition between Sauze d'Oulx and Valloire, the eagerly awaited Trophy of Nations, the most famous enduro mtb competition in the world, is back in Italy under the direction of EWS. September 28th and 29th 2019 is the date to mark on the calendar for this unmissable event that will take place in Finale Ligure, once again the glorious setting of a new important page in the history of mountain biking.
2018 concludes a cycle that has seen the Finale protagonist in the last six consecutive seasons with the Enduro World Series final and immediately 2019 opens a new path, always with the organization Finale Outdoor Resort, even more participated and felt, the clash between the best teams National teams looking for the first UCI rainbow jersey for Team.
The Trophy of Nations, in fact, is a race based on the team spirit and strategy, each made up of three riders, and represents the only event in which riders compete together for the title in the three categories of teams admitted: Nations, Industry and Amateurs.
However, it will only be the winning National team (Categories: Men, Women, U21 Men and U21 Women) to which the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) will award the UCI Rainbow Jersey for the first time in history.
The race, however, in full enduro spirit, is open to everyone and starting from January 28th anyone wishing to create a team together with their friends - each team must consist of three riders - will be able to register for the competition as an Amateur Team (minimum age 17 years) .
Registration takes place through the EWS website, on which each rider must create a profile. You will then be asked to choose a team captain who can be both a competitor and a person who will not participate in the competition.
The categories allowed for Amateur Teams are Men, Women and Mixed (two women and one man or two men and one woman).
For the Industry and Amateurs Teams there is the opportunity to take part in the funniest event of the season, to run side by side with their teammates with an innovative format and on the same trails that will assign the first Rainbow Jersey in the history of Enduro in mountain bike, as well as being able to aspire to the title of best team.
Participating in a competition based on teamwork, in search of a strategy, means identifying how to exploit the potential of each one. This will be essential to create the team result that will be calculated from the times of all the Special Stages, covered by the three riders of the Team who will start in sequence one after the other.
At the start, when each team will be given a time interval within which to start on the race track, the tactic chosen will determine the order of each component at the start. A further time window will separate the departure of the following team.
Registrations for the Trophy of Nations as Amateur Team will close when the limit number of 400 riders has been reached, so the advice is not to delay.
As for the riders who aspire to be selected in the relevant categories of the National Teams, the next few months will be decisive as they will be able to increase their ranking by earning points at the EWS, EWS Continental and EWS Qualifier races.
The Nations Trophy will be held at the end of another intense and exciting season of the Enduro World Series, after eight stages around the world; 2019 promises to be an extraordinary year for mountain biking and for the Finale area.
