Ready for the challenge? Marco Aurelio Fontana has launched the glove to all off-road enthusiasts. The Prorider of the Cannondale Factory Racing Team invites you to try and beat the times he set along the three courses cross country in three areas that he adores: Cala Violina (Follonica) in the province of Grosseto, the Manie plateau (Finale Ligure) and Monte Padova, above Castell'Arquato in the Piacenza area, near his home.
The contest started on April 20th and will end on July 31st. Adult bikers of any level of experience therefore have three abundant months to compete with the number one in cyclocross and mtb in Italy. The first classified for each track (3 men and 3 women) will win a pass for the World Cup in Val di Sole on 23 August 2015 including hospitality and, following a training session in the company of Marco Aurelio Fontana, they will be able to compete on the path of the only Italian World Cup race to win the two Cannondale F29 Carbon 4s up for grabs.
Those who register from the 2nd to the 5th time of each track in the male and female category will be able to console themselves with the pass to attend the Val di Sole World Cup to cheer the Prorider live. Rich prizes to be won therefore for all Marco Aurelio Fontana fans who will compete on one of the three single treack courses or even on all three.

«The area of Cala Violina, as well as being famous for its beaches, offers some very nice trails. We chose a short one but with a very technical climb. It is a gully with roots and stones where to make a good time you have to look for the right line. The descent, on the other hand, is easy and takes us to the finish straight which is a very long sprint where you will have to stand up and pedal to the fire! " explains Marcus Aurelius.
«The Emilian track is part of my classic training ring in the middle of the week. It involves a steep climb especially in the central part with a series of very hard concrete hairpin bends. Before taking the descent we do a single track stretch and from there we start to have fun seriously with low sides and burst bends that lead us to the final fast zone. A few small jumps and two high sides to get to the last stretch of about 50 m »he continues in the analysis.
«The Manie are known by all riders on the planet. The route faces both rocky sections (uphill) and fast banks (downhill). It is a very complete circuit, in which we need to manage our energy because the initial plain is long and connected to the climb it will force us to make a significant lactic effort. Downhill it is important to anticipate the first turns and get into the right rhythm" concludes the Olympic and world champion bronze medalist xco.
