What's more memorable than a trip with friends? Nothing is special like the moment when you put aside the rhythms and worries of everyday life and head towards a goal, with your mind finally free.
Even for a professional athlete like Marcus Aurelius Fontana, one of the most talented bikers and cyclocrossists on an international level, an experience like this is more satisfying than many successes and medals.
That's why, this season, Marco has stolen some time from hard training and competitions to embark on the small, big journey planned for years with Claudio, Leornado and Martino, three people with a completely different life, but with a very great shared passion: mountain biking.
The four friends, armed with rucksacks and helmets, got on their bikes and set off from Bobbio (Piacenza), drawing an unprecedented route through the Apennines to reach the splendid Portofino. A story of friendship and sport told in three exciting episodes, online from December 1st on the website www.redbull.com/ bikediaries
"A journey like the one we have achieved is the essence of cycling, we have dreamed of it for years and finally we have managed to take the time to do it" Marco Fontana told.
“Traveling by bike you have the opportunity to encounter different landscapes, terrains, colors. Italy is a fantastic place to ride a bike, precisely because you can see completely different places, within easy reach of each other ", he then added, explaining how the experience told in Bike Diaries was also an opportunity to rediscover a territory and to trace new routes for all bikers.
