The Gravitalia National Circuit is back on the field for Round #4 in Pila, the historic town of international renown, already known and appreciated for the previous UCI DH World Cup and iXS European events Downhill Cup, thanks to the impeccable Aosta Valley organization and the exciting track created and updated over the years by Corrado Herin. Pila returns to the great national DH after 8 years, from the 2008 Italian Championships, and does it in great style, packing one of the most beautiful events in the history of Gravitalia.
In a crescendo of suspense and adrenaline, Johannes Von Klebelsberg (Tiroler Radler Bozen) signed his name in first place in the overall standings, with an impeccable run that allowed him to be the only one to stop the clock below the 4 minute threshold.
The very fast South Tyrolean champion crossed the finish line at 3'58.46 confirming himself as leader of the Gravitalia National Circuit and placing a serious risk on the general classification, with only one race at the end of the circuit.
Another excellent performance by Loris Revelli (AB Devinci Italy) who closed the demanding Pila track in just 4'01.78, forced to give way only to an exceptional Johannes.
Francesco Colombo (AB Devinci Italy) also confirms the third position conquered yesterday in qualifying in the final, marking a gap of just over 7 seconds from the best time of the day.
Fourth position for Gianluca Vernassa, who helps bring points to the AB Devinci Italy team, once again winner of the team classification. In fifth place Marco Milivinti (Rifar Mondraker), always competitive on the technical and physical tracks.
In the women's field, Eleonora Farina (Rifar Mondraker) still dominates the overall standings, with an exceptional time of 4'35.57 which brings her to the top step of the podium and reconfirms her as the leader of the general classification of the Gravitalia National Circuit.
Second position for Alia Marcellini (Team Cingolani), who suffers a massive gap due to two crashes during her run. Third position for Sara De Leo (Ancillotti Factory Team) who scored a good performance on the home track, followed in fourth place by teammate Rosy Fuccio. Fifth position for the young Vera Colombi (Le Marmotte Loreto).
In the Women Amateurs category, Federica Amelio (Alessi Bici) sets the best time, followed by the circuit leader Giulia Bombardieri (Mystic Freeride) and Giuliana Gollini (Due Ruote Forlì).
Great enthusiasm in the Men Amateurs category for the return to the races of Corrado Herin (Black Arrows) who, in preparation for the World Masters Championships in Val di Sole, runs the home race on the track to which he has dedicated over 10 years of work and refinements.
Corrado, after having written entire pages of the history of Italian and international DH with numerous victories in the UCI DH World Cup and as many podiums, returns to the races confirming his temperament as a winner and conquering the first position at the age of 50 both in qualifying and in the final. Second position 2 seconds behind for Fabrizio Dragoni (Alessi Bici), followed in third place by Paolo Alleva (Scout NukeProof), who holds the gap from Herin to just 3 seconds and 31 hundredths.
