The Q36.5 Research and Development team has developed the application of GRDXKN® technology capable of protecting the skin from abrasion in the event of an accident.
Since its inception, the Bolzano-based brand has stood out for the use of highly technological fabrics aimed at facilitating the thermoregulation of athletes in situations of extreme effort and in all environmental conditions, even the most difficult. The name of the brand itself is its mission: Q for “quaerere” in Latin, or ''research'', and 36.5, the ideal temperature in °C for a healthy body.
The technology uses newly developed 4D printing to integrate a protective layer to the fabric of the product. The properties of the GRDXKN® matrix have been successfully tested in crash simulations up to 100 km/h and have demonstrated an abrasion resistance 5 times higher than that of an untreated fabric.
In addition, GRDXKN® creates an additional cushioning layer that distributes the force exerted by the fall and absorbs the energy, significantly protecting the skin.
Q36.5's proprietary fabrics reinforced through this technology remain extremely light, flexible and aerodynamic. In fact, the integration of GRDXKN® technology has a reduced weight of only 20g and thanks to the particular three-dimensional structure it favors the aerodynamics of the garments thus allowing better athletic performance.
GRDXKN® is integrated with the Gregarius shorts and the Pinstripe shirt, the flagship garments of the Q2023 spring/summer 36.5 collection.
Former professional cyclist Vincenzo Nibali, technical Ambassador of the brand, great champion and classy downhill skier, wears Q36.5 Grid Skin garments that allow you to tackle any type of route and terrain with even greater confidence and safety.
All components of the GRDXKN material comply with ÖKOTEX100®, GOTS® and Bluesign® standards.
