Everything is ready in Varazze for the race weekend with over 350 bikers from 8 nations who will battle it out along the 4 special stages.
It will be a weekend of entertainment here at the Varazze Superenduro powered by SRAM, with over 350 competitors from 8 countries including Germany, France, Spain, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and of course Italy.
"We have never had so many enduro riders at one time to ride on our trails" declares Marco D'Aliesio of the local organization Vaze Free Time "but the thing that makes us most proud is to receive the positive feedback on the work we have done in these months to better prepare the tracks, certainly challenging, but equally spectacular and characteristic of our territory ".
All the top Italian riders including the new Italian Enduro Champions Vittorio Gambirasio Team Red Bike and Laura Rossin XXX are at the start, but an important participation of top international riders including the World Champion of 4x Michal Prokop Team Specialized, the Focus Trail Team with the Germans Fabian Scholz, Markus and Tobias Reiser and Balz Weber of Team BMC, but also the Swiss twins Anita and Caro Gehrig of the Ibis team.

“It seems strange to say it but as a Ligurian I didn't know Varazze well” declares the new Italian Champion Laura Rossin “At the beginning of the season the Superenduro told us that each race would have its own character and so it was. Varazze is a very special and certainly physical race. If in Massa Marittima the flow has dominated here on these technical trails and with this very varied background you have to show off all your driving skills. It is hard to pedal and to maintain speed you have to work a lot with the body. The race result is anything but obvious and in my opinion a good choice of tires and the right suspension setting can make the difference ”.
There is also a lot of anticipation for the second round of the E-MTB category which will see nothing less than Marco Rodolico at the start. “The intention to come and race again at the Superenduro was however there and I combined this with the curiosity of the rider and dealer to understand more fully the potential of this vehicle and of the category. I believe that these bikes can truly represent the future for all non-professional or less trained enduro riders, they are fun and allow you to cover large gradients easily. In addition, the number of vans is greatly reduced and I am sure that this is an aspect that appeals to many ”.
We'll see what happens. We will have the first signs tomorrow at the end of free practice scheduled from 8:00 to 18:00 while the competition will begin at 8:30 on Sunday morning with the start of the first competitor.
We remind all riders that it is very important to attend the technical meeting at 18:30 pm (Molo del Surf di Varazze) tomorrow where the details of the event will be explained.
