Exactly one month after the debut on Friday 22 July, the organizing company of the 2022 Italian Cross Country and e-MTB Championships, SSV Pichl/Gsies, has made official the calendar of the three-day Italian event scheduled in Valle di Casies (BZ), which will offer 27 national titles up for grabs until Sunday 24 July.
The program of the tricolor review in South Tyrol will start on Friday 22 July with the preliminary operations and the first national titles up for grabs, those of e-MTB, starting at 18.00. In recent years, the e-MTB tests have been able to offer an entertaining and spectacular format, which has been able to attract, in addition to the specialists, champions of the cross country from the past like Julien Absalon and Marco Aurelio Fontana, and protagonists of the present like Alan Hatherly and Tom Pidcock.



The absolute e-MTBs will warm the atmosphere in view of the key day of Saturday 23 July, when the athletes of the agonistic categories will compete in the Valle di Casies. At 09.00, the program will start with the Junior Men race, followed by the U23 Men race at 11.00, the women's competitions (Junior, U23 and Elite) at 13.00, and the grand final entrusted to the Elite Men race at 15.00.
Nadir Colledani (MMR Racing Team) and Eva Lechner (Trinx Factory Racing) will try to defend the tricolor jerseys of the Elite categories won a year ago in Bielmonte (Biella) in Valle di Casies.
In the men's field, the most anticipated challengers will be Gerhard Kerschbaumer (Specialized Factory Racing), winner of the Internazionali d'Italia Series test on the Italian course last season, Juri Zanotti (Team BMC MTB Racing), Luca Braidot (Santa Cruz - FSA) and his twin Daniele (CS Carabinieri), Gioele Bertolini (Trinx Factory Racing) and Simone Avondetto (Trek-Pirelli).
In the women's field, Lechner will have to beware of the athletes of the Team Santa Cruz-FSA, Martina Berta, Greta Seiwald and Sara Cortinovis, as well as Giada Specia (Trek-Pirelli) and Giorgia Marchet (Trinx Factory Racing).



In the youth categories, in 2021 the U23 titles went to Juri Zanotti e Giada Specia, while Yannick Parisi and Sara Cortinovis won the tricolor jerseys in the Juniores category.
The program of the tricolor review will end on Sunday 24 July with competitions reserved for amateurs. At 09.00 the athletes of the Master 1 and Elite Sport categories will start, followed by Master 2, 3 and 4 at 11.00, Master 5, 6, 7 and 8 at 13.00. Also at 13.00, the women of the Elite Sport, Master 1, 2 and 3 categories will take to the track.
