Pro4 in Sauze D'Oulx, ready to go!

Source: press release

Can't wait to take the longest and most steep stage in history? Do you struggle to chase your opponents in the new Supermountain format? Don't worry, there are just a few days left for the fourth and final stage of the Superenduro Powered By SRAM, which will assign the 2014 titles to Sauze d'Oulx. A race that promises to be epic, but which will be within everyone's reach thanks to an important use of the ski lifts.

The alpine race par excellence changes its date and takes place in this unprecedented location at the beginning of September, a fantastic time to immerse yourself in the nature of the upper Val Susa. The Superenduro staff has developed an event full of novelties and, as usual, has chosen Sauze to experiment with new solutions. To not miss the final appointment of this fantastic season just click to complete theonline registration , the seats are still available and there is time until Thursday.
Two days of competition, which will be decided after seven special stages plus the Supermountain with the new format, unprecedented and spectacular. There will no longer be the mass start, but each athlete will start individually based on the overall classification after the seventh stage. The final heat will therefore be in pursuit and the first athlete to reach Piazzale Miramonti will be the winner of the race. A thrilling finale, who starts in front will have the pressure of the opponents, while who starts behind will be stimulated by the hunt for the bikers who precede him. All seasoned with the cheering of the public, who will push the superendurists to the finish.

The program will start on Saturday 6 September, with the opening of the competition secretariat from 8 to 12. The technical briefing at 12.30 will precede the departure, scheduled for 13.30. Three special stages will be tackled on the first day of competition: “The Goat”, “The longest in the world” and “Flight to Bali”, with transfers that will mostly use the lifts. Sunday 7 September we will start again with “The goat” and “Flight to Bali”, then the time control will precede the last steps on “The longest in the world” and again “Flight to Bali”. At that point it will be the turn of the emotions with the intense final Supermountain in pursuit.

There is expectation for the assignment of the male and female titles, even if in both results it will be very difficult to worry the current leaders. Marco Milivinti will be able to control his opponents by settling for a placement, thanks to the advantage over Alex Lupato. The same goes for Louise Paulin, who with three victories in as many previous races seems to leave very little hope for Valentina Macheda. The challenge will be exciting, also because there will certainly be outsiders, especially foreigners. Eyes on the Shucksmith brothers, Greg Callaghan and Karim Amour, to whom some other important names could be added. To keep an eye on Katy Wintom, Gabby Malloy and Nina Rupnik for the women's ranking. The Superenduro Powered By SRAM is waiting for you too for the final party, don't miss the Sauze d'Oulx appointment!

Here the race sheet with all the info on the event.

At the age of 18 I passed into the cross country competing at national/international level as an Under23. Past Elite, I made the choice to take things more lightly from a training point of view, and my love for gravity disciplines was born, training me as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made passion my profession by managing 2 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Bike Center Elba and Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
