The new Trek Slash 2021 has been presented

With the next-generation Slash model, Trek sets a new standard in the extended travel trail bike industry.

Trek today unveiled details of the all-new Slash range. Major updates to this award-winning platform set a new benchmark in performance for more aggressive enduro and trail riders.

Slash was first introduced in a 29er version in 2016. Awarded Bike of the Year by BikeRadar and Pinkbike, it has established itself as the benchmark for extreme trail enthusiasts and speed-hungry enduro riders. Today, this large-wheeled platform is making a comeback thanks to a series of new and practical updates that go alongside the most adjustable suspension ever and the even more pronounced attitude towards aggressive descent.

The new Slash features enhanced front and rear suspension. All models are now equipped with a 170mm fork and a rear suspension with 160mm travel.

To handle the increased travel, Trek updated the Slash's enduro geometry by adopting a longer reach, a more open head tube and a lowered bottom bracket, along with a two-degree more angled seat tube.

Slash may look like a monster truck, but it whizzes by like a flying carpet. The updates made to geometry and suspension provide greater stability on high-speed descents and on rough and difficult surfaces, making climbing surprisingly easy even with a bike so prone to tackle the toughest trails.

The Slash range includes versions in both OCLV Mountain Carbon and aluminum.

Most Slash models feature the all-new Super Deluxe ThruShaft damper, which combines RockShox's latest technologies with Trek's ThruShaft damper. The suspension configuration is extraordinarily refined: reacting to the stresses of the trail and not to those generated by the rider, it adapts perfectly to the needs of the most passionate all-mountain enduro riders.

The new ThruShaft Super Deluxe shock features a new low-speed adjuster that cancels rider input (such as pedal strokes) without affecting the high-speed compressions generated by the rugged trails, terrain this bike was designed for.

The Slash models in both alloy and carbon offer a series of new frame solutions developed for an overall superior driving experience.

Having been designed for riders who appreciate the toughest trails, the new Slash is now equipped with a stronger and easier to maintain threaded bottom bracket. In addition, the new Slash features a 34,9mm seat tube capable of accommodating stronger dropper posts.

All models, including alloy models, now come with an internal storage compartment that can accommodate tools and essentials. Added to this is a complete protection for the down tube, designed to protect the frame from trail debris and damage caused during transport.

The new Slash also features next-generation Knock Block technology that prevents cables or fittings from tearing in the event of an accident. Knock Block 2.0 offers a 72 degree turning radius, which is considerably wider than the previous version. Since the fork on the all-new Slash doesn't interfere with the down tube, Knock Block can be easily removed to offer infinite turning radius.

The all-new Slash sets a new standard in enduro and all-mountain performance in the long-travel 29er category. This model is capable of both tackling big descents like a road bike downhill both to launch on the most demanding trails, but it is still light and lively enough to allow you to ride all day and easily tackle the climbs of enduro courses.

The new bike is available online at trekbikes.com in select markets and through Trek's extensive global network of retail partners.
