PIRELLI: SCORPION XC RC 2.4 FOR MTB CROSS COUNTRY ARRIVES ON THE MARKET AFTER THE DEBUT WITH A PODIUM IN THE WORLD CUP
Source: press release
The Scorpion XC RC line is expanding: today the tyre cross country, dedicated to racing, is also available in 2.4 to meet the new trend of rims with wide channels. The tyre, supplied to Pirelli's partner teams, has already achieved significant results in the World Cup.
Launched in 2020, the Scorpion XC RC is a competition-focused tire designed to handle a mixed variety of terrain, such as those typically encountered on modern Olympic Cross Country courses, and is equally at home on both artificial and natural surfaces, on firmer or softer surfaces.
Dedicated to the expert racer looking for maximum speed in the race, the Scorpion XC RC is now available both in the classic 29 × 2.2 version and in the new 29 × 2.4 version. The new size is also offered in the LITE variants, for those seeking maximum lightness, and ProWALL for those looking for more protection on the hips and great cornering stability. The new Scorpion XC RC is available in a Team version, with yellow logos.
The current trend of new wide rims and the growing competitiveness of modern XCO courses are leading riders to demand more performing bikes (now all full-suspended). Consequently, the choice of riders falls on tires with a greater volume of air, which allow higher travel speeds downhill, uphill and on uneven surfaces. The 2.4 size was therefore developed by Pirelli following the most current standards to match rims with a 30C internal channel.
Like all Pirelli tires, the new Scorpion XC RC 2.4 also underwent a period of severe field testing: the feedback from the TREK-PIRELLI team that had it supplied from the beginning of the season was fundamental.
