The first stage of the E-DAY Race is approaching and will take place in Corigliano Rossano under the supervision and tracking of Pippo Marani. In the first position to lend a hand the local associations ASD Corigliano Bike and Bike Service Clementina Bike.
The track measures 25,9km by 1302m. The highest point will be at 748m. A technical and nervous race, suitable for all those who can get the best out of their e-bike.
The format will be a classic granfondo but with an electric bike. The route has been studied in detail, trying to continuously insert changes in slope and single track, so as not to feel the limit of 26km / h: technical and steep climbs with flow descents in single track (even if, by the creator of the black snake, the technical traits will certainly not be lacking). A race that, with a 625wh battery, can be closed in tour mode without problems.
Pippo described his E-DAY Race as follows: "It is basically a circuit, a term that I do not use, however, as it would affect the essence of the initiative, that is: the spread of the use of the e-Bike in a competitive and the enhancement / discovery of the territories that will host the competitions ».
"The need for this initiative arose from the copious request of enthusiasts in possession of enduro e-bikes who found themselves in this particular season, without initiatives on which to vent their competitiveness".
The biggest difference lies in the spirit of the competition, different from everything that has been proposed up to now.
«It is a formula that originates from the experience of the undersigned and that certainly draws on the past, in what has allowed a wide sporting and commercial diffusion of Mtb. The e-Bike represents today what MTB was 30 years ago, with the obvious differences. Certain dynamics used at the time to increase its diffusion have remained unchanged, indeed, thanks to social networks they are now made easier to put into practice. Combining competition and gathering in a single day, in the same environment, on the same routes, may seem obvious, but today it still does not exist. To date, no one has yet thought of embracing a user who has no outlets, who would like to try their hand at… but is afraid. Furthermore, those with the racing spirit could compete on new courses or great natural classics, created to enhance their abilities, all in one day ».
