Pauline Ferrand-Prevot opens up after this cyclocross season. A tougher season than could have been expected later its incredible 2022 vintage with 4 world championships (XCO, Short Track, marathon and gravel). Now the head goes to Paris 2024 where he seeks the gold medal at any cost.
In the last stage of Cyclocross World Cup in Dublin ranked 7th.
You always learn, even after a great season where everything seemed easy. It's fair to say that I'm struggling now (but maybe that's also why victories always bring great joy?). I started feeling pain in my back, like old times. After the medical check nothing is damaged but it was good to know that we have a few things to work on to do better.
All of this is also a good lesson in humility after the past good months, reminding me that nothing lasts forever. To be honest with myself, my Cx expectations weren't great, as I know how difficult it is to perform in a discipline you haven't competed in for years. I had to adjust to new bikes, new shoes, new components, new environment. I had to physically recover from my Mtb season, but also with all the media solicitation I've had (it's part of the game they said). It's always the expectation of others which is sometimes a bit too much. - Pauline Ferrand Prevot

Today was a better day with no left leg pain, a good start and two good last laps… (although it is far from some expectations). I will work hard to improve and be where I want to be.
I am so thankful for all the nice people who work alongside me, helping me to be a better athlete and human being. I have already met super nice people who fill my heart with happiness and make me smile. – Pauline Ferrand Prevot
