Öhlins announces the launch of the RXF34 m.2, the latest edition of the brand's leading range of high performance MTB forks. Designed for downhill use, the new fork replaces the original RXF34 and offers a 120-130mm short travel configuration optimized for lightweight 29-inch trail bikes.

The RXF34 m.2 is now available to order and is priced at € 1.294.

The RXF34 m.2 benefits from almost half a century of the brand's experience in the production of suspension products, from Formula 1, to motocross and MotoGP, to enduro, to downhill and now to the downcountry. Weighing in at just 1698g, the fork boasts an all-new air spring and damper tailored to the demands of the emerging riding style, whilst retaining all the hallmarks of Öhlins' race-proven high-performance suspension seen from its long-travel cousins.

OTX18 - the downcountry shock absorber

The RXF34 m.2 uses Öhlins' newly developed OTX18 shock absorber. Born from the highly successful TTX18 found in the brand's downhill and trail forks, the OTX18 is purpose built for lightweight trail bikes. It shares several key components with its big brother TTX18, but weighs 27% less and is optimized for faster, smoother track riding, finding the optimal balance between traction, control, weight and stiffness.

The new shock absorber is paired with a strong yet lightweight air spring that features a positive, self-adjusting negative chamber. Positive chamber allows riders to fine-tune the spring curve to suit their needs using Öhlins' easy-to-use volume spacer system. The negative chamber, meanwhile, was designed for trail riding riding fast and offers a soft initial feel and excellent small bump sensitivity. The surface and spring seals also minimize friction and breakout force to enhance the fork's smooth ride feel.

The RXF34 m.2 also benefits from the same race-proven floating axle design found in the RXF36 m.2 and RXF38 m.2, which reduces friction and further increases stiffness.
